I wonder if they'll include games from DIY.

Maybe they could even salvage some games from Game and Wario.

Well look at that, they did.

Gamer is included.

I saw a gameplay video of the demo.

The voice acting is kinda weird... Like, it sounds like the short "Yahoo"s and "All Right"s that all the games have in between the microgames, but extended.

Might be that I'm not used to hearing full sentences out of Wario.

As far as I know the full game includes microgames from Smooth Moves.

My favorite thing by far is the return of the Wario Ware Twisted style souvenirs. I was considering cancelling the preorder, but seeing that bit in the trailers included with the demo was enough to convince me otherwise.

Seems like I need to track down some footage of the demo online. In terms of the WarioWare games, the only non-spinoff I've played is Touched!, and that was sold to me by an in-store demo at GameStop back in the day. I'm planning on grabbing the original GBA entry off the Wii U VC at some point.

Also, that's great news that Gamer survives; it was probably my favorite aspect of Game & Wario (though funnily enough, I did enjoy the gashapon prize mechanic for the most part). If it weren't for Patchwork at this point, I'd probably consider selling the game....I still might, actually.

@Yosheel : Wario's voice indeed sounds really unrefined (referencing the vocal performance as opposed to the character himself ). I really wish they had recast him. I can only assume that he is being voiced by Charles Martinet, and his performance as Wario is serviceable for quick sound bites, but he makes my skin crawl when he says entire sentences in-character (he isn't a good enough voice actor to pull it off). Wario sounded far too restrained and oddly uncartoon-like (his voice should also have been a touch more gravelley). A better actor could have done the role justice, I feel.

In any case, I believe that Japanese audio is included as well as the option to redub the dialogue in cutscenes, so I look forward to doing a better job of it.

@Yosheel : I had a peek through the manual as I was curious about the game's amiibo functionality, and I found out that cutscenes can be dubbed. It's a brilliant idea. I only wish more games had such a feature.

In terms of amiibo functionality, apparently, Wario will paint a picture of the scanned amiibo, but the manual won't specify which characters exactly (I very much doubt that ALL currently available amiibo will be supported).

I've always found the little bits of voice acting in the Wario Ware games to sound a bit weird.

Like... Otherworldly. It's like they exist in a vacuum where people sound like that.

The demo made me smile like an idiot the whole way through. Can't wait for this game.

I have mixed feelings with this game. I'm not a fan of the series, but because I only have one game and haven't had the time to play it.

Thing is... minigames are for short bursts, and I enjoy stories, missions, campaigns... So I'm afraid it would end up being abandoned after a few hours. I have a lot of games almost untouched, a terrible backlog, but the ones I pick up and play are the ones I can commit to for a bunch of hours. Short bursts are not for me. Except for arcade games, when I need to scratch my retro itch.

But... as usual, when the release date approaches I start to feel the hype in the air and find myself kind of wanting the game.

Look's like Wario has taken over the 3DS eShop in Europe.
If you haven't seen it yet take a look, i think it's a very neat Idea and a good way to promote Wario Ware Gold.

(American version has Latin American voice acting, and Wario actually sounds like himself)

Well done, Nintendo. Well done.

It's still so weird hearing so much Spanish coming out of a Wario game though.

My level of hype for this game is unreal.
I REALLY love the series. Not sure if the fact it's coming 15 years after the first game is intentional (as a sort of anniversary game), but it's an awesome gift to the fans.

I still need to grab the demo since it's finally out here in NA. Hopefully tomorrow night when I finally get some longer downtime.

It seems they put on some of the minigames from Game & Wario if I'm not mistaken? To me that would be really nice, as I skipped the Wii U and consequently Game & Wario. (Not to get too much off topic but the Wii U games I wanted to play the most back then were NSMBU, 3D World and Game & Wario)

Also, there's an Fire Emblem Awakening microgame and one where you atttach a joy-con into a Switch. I absolutely love those kinds of references.
9-volt minigames always had that really nostalgic feeling to me.

@Vinny What if I told you that was actually a 5-Volt (9-Volt's mom) microgame? Yes, she makes microgames now and is just as much of a Nintendo fan as her son.

Probably deliberate. They want a character adult gamers (who now play with their own children) can relate to.

Definitely buying this one. Looking forward to Ashley’s reveal trailer for Smash!
