Topic: Upper/Lower screen darker

My sister's 3DS hasn't had any issues this far but recently she has noticed her screens are at a different brightness. First it was the bottom screen that was darker, but now it's the other way around. We've tried changing the brightness level, but the even though the darker screen gets brighter, it doesn't become as bright as the brighter screen. The difference between the screens' brightness is even more noticeable when the 3D is turned off. Also, sometimes when she's playing a DS game and has left the system in sleep mode, the system makes a weird popping sound and turns off when opened.

I just wonder what has caused these issues. The screens were always at the same brightness until recently, and she never had this popping sound before either.

I suggest she contact Nintendo, and send it off to them, which should be free, due to the 12 month warranty

Poping noise? Not good. Hope it doesn't start a fire. I'd send that bad boy in if I were you, her, whatever.

Just to reinforce what others are saying, send it in. That really doesn't sound good, especially the popping noise.

If you find yourself spiritually drifting (as I was for far too many years), remember that Jesus can and will walk across the water to reach you and bring you back to shore.

Yeah, that's probably the best option. Although the issue's not so bad at the moment, better be safe than sorry. We'll probably wait till the ambassador deadline's over, though.

Unless she's already accessed it, you should be fine, and eligible for the Ambassador deal.

Yeah, she has accessed it, so we should be fine.

Just e-mailed Nintendo about it and hope to get their response soon. Anyway, thanks for your answers and suggestions! I must admit, first we were a bit hesitant on sending it, since there's always some hassle involved when sending the console for repairs, but we decided to do it anyway, especially since the popping sound has gotten much worse today (now it even occurs randomly when the 3DS is not in sleep mode!). Hopefully my sister will get it back soon when we send it. Does anyone now the minimum time it takes for them to fix the console and send it back?
