Just thought of this, but maybe add 2-3 unlockable skins for every character? Make them challenging to get for even more replay value.
Feel free to say a skin you would like to see on characters, here are some examples.

Justin Bailey Samus seems like no (mother) brainer.
All Prime suits for Samus as well - I would literally kill for the dark suit from Echoes.
Bowser could get its N64 skin as well - it would be hilarious to play as him in that low poly glory.
Rosalina has a racing suit in MK8, so she could use it here as well. Peach could apply as well.
We also need new Link from the WiiU title. I do not care about the details. We just need that badass design in.

I actually wished SSB had multiple costumes for characters instead of just color changes. Like if Mario had his Dr.Mario costume, or his Pirate costume from Mario Party 2. Man, I would've liked to see Peach have a doctor costume too. Some examples:

Nice ideas, but posting on the main topic of super smash bros will show your idea briefly. I really like the idea of unlockable cosmetics in video games, adds excitement and accomplishment + more replay value.
