Topic: Uncreative Names

It's not like I prefer names over gameplay, and if I did, that's just low, but still...
Nintendo needs to be more creative when it comes to names. I somehow don't mind Mario Kart 7 that much, dunno why,
Super Mario 3D Land sounds rather odd and rushed, "Super Mario Tales" sounds pretty fitting, since it's obviously a pun.
And then there's all these other games with 3D here, and 3D there. Blah, blah, it's getting annoying.

they took a good path with the wii, why losing it ?
mario Galaxy or mario sunshine was great. mario kart double dash too.
at least, the next zelda on wii will be called legend of zelda Wii.

Up until Mario Kart 7 was announced as the new Mario Kart entry you wouldn't have even thought of this topic. And considering you only named two games all together your point doesn't...add up? Super Mario 3D Land sounds fine. Great even. It's Mario. If you want to make a topic last make it on bad titles in general, not so focused on Nintendo.

Mario Kart 7 sounds too bland to not be changed, lol.

Oh? And Final Fantasy I - XXV is any more creative? How about all games that end with a number for that matter?

lz brings up a very valid point. If your going to pick on Nintendo for naming two games, names you dislike, then you might as well complain about every company and they're habit of naming games.

You must have not been around in the days of the SNES when ever game was called Super this and Super that. Personally I dont think they will keep the Mario Kart 7 name I am sure that they will change it at some point I mean this is Nintendo after all. They tend to use alot of code names like Dolphin for the Gamecube and Revolution for the Wii.

They're copying Windows 7.

oh and it should be called Super Mario 3D. It's Mario 3 inspired but has 3D graphics, 3D gameplay and...uh...3D. Nothing to do with Mario Land, and Super Mario Land 3 was Wario Land anyway.

Snes and N64 games had the dumbest names ever.
For the first year of each system it was all about the Supers and the 64's. At least Gamecube and Wii games had creative titles. Oh and just for the record Mario Kart 7 is silly.

Doesn't sound like the game will be much of a popout adventure though, since the game is more reliant on depth and all that. Maybe for some Bowser chase scenes or something. Super Mario Dimensions or Mario Land Dimensions sound good though.

"Mario Kart 7" is actually a pretty clever title. It's spoofing how Microsoft named their 7th major edition of Windows as just "Windows 7" despite never previously using that naming convention.
