Topic: Transfer question regarding Ambassador downloads

Here's what I'm looking into doing:

3DS#1 = Ambassador 3DS
3DS#2 = Non-Ambassador 3DS

I want to get the Ambassador games/status from 3DS#1 onto 3DS#2. However, I want to keep the Streetpass/Mii Plaza data from 3DS#2. I'm considering transferring 3DS#2 onto 3DS#1, and then transferring back to 3DS#2. My main concern is that somehow Ambassador status will be lost somewhere in the back and forth, and that I won't be able to re-download Ambassador titles at a later point if I needed to delete some for whatever reason.

Anyone tried this, or know someone who has?

Well I can say this: EVERYTHING is transferred from one 3DS to another. As I can understand, you cannot choose which data to transfer in the process. It's all or nothing.

Honestly I don't see the big deal with keeping Mii Plaza data away from #2 What I suggest doing is transferring everything from #1 to #2 then erasing the Mii Plaza data from #2.

Does it send over EVERYTHING including Streetpasses, Activity logs, and game saves?

EVERYTHING, according to what I've heard. Don't blame me if it doesn't work, though.

Read this. It explains the whole deal about transferring. Not everything is overwritten but for the most part this is the case

In short, you will retain your Ambassador status from 3DS1 and be able to redownload your games in the future should you delete them, but you will lose all of your Mii Plaza stuff from 3DS2 in the transfer process. here's a direct link to the details (so you don't have to go winnowing through FAQ pages to find the right info next time).

@theblackdragon - I did read it (promise). However, the instructions are pretty specific about transferring from one 3DS to another, but they read as if the Ambassador 3DS system is the one getting transferred to a new system (which obviously makes the most sense). Since the situation I'm presenting is a little different, I just wondered if anyone had tried this - it would be nice to know for a fact that the Ambassador status remains after a non-Ambassador system is copied onto it.

Not the end of the world situation here, just curious. If I'm still skeptical about it when I go to make the move, I had planned to do things the way Iz mentioned.

It's combined on both systems. You will not lose your Ambassador status, whether it's the source or the target system — it can only be transferred away.

That said, if it's the source system that has the Mii Plaza stuff you want to keep and the target that has the Ambassador status and games, it sounds like you got lucky :3
