Impressions from someone I talked to on Youtube.

" Alright! I'm going to try to keep this short but I've got a lot to say...
First, I can see why most people do not like this game. The controls are a weird mix of being slightly clunky and floaty at the same time. Each turtle controls slightly different but not really enough to notice. Leo is the most balanced. The enemies can be quite frustrating, especially the flying ones, due to your hit box being incredibly wide and the enemy hit box feeling pretty slim. Along with enemy positions that are down right mean, like an enemy with a shield on a small platform that you have to flail around hoping you'll hit him so you can continue. However, once you get the hang of the controls it actually isn't that bad. If a turtle dies you have to find a 'rescue' room to recover them and if all turtles are captured it's game over.

Now! I am actually enjoying this game for a number of reasons. There was care put into this thing, it does feel like it was rushed but it was rushed with some care. The graphics are fine on the 3DS screen and the 3D is okay, although the cutscenes are not in 3D, they are fantastic. Nice and smooth wile sporting the entire voice cast from the show. Sound design is okay, but the music is great. Classic WayForward music that really pulls you in and gets you humming. They also pulled so much inspiration of classic Turtle game themes.

While playing, I felt like I was actually traversing through the city we see in the show. There is a lot of detail put into each area, however the sewer and the apartments get a bit repetitive. You'll see nice touches like monster movie posters in some rooms and you'll see a bunch of store fronts from the show while on the streets. The level design was definitely rushed but there was care thrown into decorating the landscape. You'll find characters like Mr. Murakami who will throw you pizza gyoza for health, the Sparrow Wizard who gives you upgrades, Ice cream Kitty who gives you extra experience points, along with many other allies from the show who will teach you new moves. So far the enemy selection isn't too terribly diverse but you'll find about 2 in each 'class'. Two types of foot soldiers, two types of Kraang droids, two types of flying Kraang robots, etc. Now, I've only fought 2 bosses and traveled through 3 distinct areas, but I'm really enjoying this game. It's got it's problems and it sure was rushed, but it's not broken, it plays just fine. You can tell the developers put some love into this game even though they were rushed by a short deadline. If you're a fan of the Nick show and open world 'Metroidvania' gameplay, you'll be able to get past the slightly weird controls and the rushed level design. I'd say pick it up!"

I also picked it up myself. It's surprisingly decent but I know some reviews out there are giving it really bad scores. I was expecting a AAA title and with Way Forward developing it, I said it must be decent at best. If you like the Nick show like I do and the original NES game, might want to look into it or wait for a price drop or black friday sale.

I enjoy this game, it might not be the best but I still had fun

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
