So, I recently purchased a limited edition Zelda 3DS XL on Amazon, and I really like it a lot! However, there is a tiny pit/depression (doesn't look like a scratch) on the top of the system, in one of the triangles of the Triforce. Everything else of the system looks great, so I was wondering, if you guys recommend any sort of paint, tutorial, or anything to possibly fix this minor imperfection? Have any of you guys tried repainting a 3DS and how did it turn out? It really isn't that big of a deal, but I would like to fix it if possible.
I called Nintendo Customer Service and they said that they could replace the entire shell because it is under warranty, but the shell they use could look worse than the one it already has because they are all refurbished, so I may be taking a chance. They also said that they may not even have another shell for the DS, since it is limited edition and all. It would also take them around three months to replace the shell and send it back to me, so I don't know if it will be worth all the hassle/time to fix something so minor or barely noticeable. So, what do you guys recommend? Any advice or input will be greatly appreciated and thank you all for your assistance!!!
Just return it to Amazon saying that your product was damaged and you would like a different one. That's what I would do...
EDIT: Best of luck to ya with your XL, man!

At any rate, have a good one! :D

I have also heard that this model in specific is pretty prone to "sinking", as in, the middle of the top external shell sinks in.
It is related to the materials or something (combined with the fact that the shells are large and thin) and it was pretty common to find threads like this when the Zelda XL was new.
Actually, it is a little chip in the paint and is not the "hole" you guys are talking about unfortunately. I have attached a picture of the system, so you guys will have a better idea of what it looks like... http://tinypic.com/r/65tvfb/8
The chip is in the top left triangle of the triforce around the middle. Any ideas on what I could do, any sort of paint or do it yourself thing? If they replace the shell will the value of the system go down? I don't know if it will affect the price of the system, being a collector's item/ limited edition?
Mine has had the tiniest of dead pixels in the bottom of the top screen. Two teeny tiny pixels that I can't take my eyes off of. Instead of sending it back I just live with it. I would suggest the replacement if you can't stop noticing it. But if it doesn't affect anything then perhaps you could just try and fix it yourself
