I don't know if anyone else has been following this kickstarter!? But it's been a big success story and has even seemed to step things up in the final week and has blazed past the 3DS goal, which I was very happy to see. Very few of these types of indies ever seem to make it to the 3DS (which is why I still love my Vita).
While the whole metroidvania genre is really becoming oversaturated, I can't deny that I really enjoy these types of games. Although I don't think any have reached the heights of the genre's 2 namesakes.
Thoughts and opinions below....

I'm somewhat interested in this but NL have the release date listed as Nov 2015 so it's too far off for me to get excited about.
Haha in an industry that gives us things like Watch Dogs on Wii U, (released about 4 years after announcement) and Final Fantasy 15 (to be released about 10 years after announcement), I can just about live with that kinda time horizon. The 3DS is kinda starved of really good indie games in my opinion. For saying it's sold about 5 times as many units as the Vita, the Vita has a far superior indie library.
I dunno, I think the indie market has pretty much filled the entire space of 2D gaming at this point. The big developers are probably better off doing the things that only big developers can.
I don't understand why everybody says metroidvania when it's Metroid-like. Metroidvania are the metroid-like Castlevania games.
About the game, I followed its campaign on kickstarter (didn't pledge, never do) and I'm quite happy about it making it to the 3DS. Unless it turns out to be a turd I'll get it.
