Topic: Time to Get a New 3DS

My 3DS finally needs to be replaced. I am currently at college (fanfare) and I have a tile floor in my dorm. My only way of charging my 3DS is with a power strip I have that ends up crowded with the refrigerator, alarm clock, microwave, Wii U, laptop, and 3DS charger in it. The wires got tangled and I accidentally sent my 3DS careening over the edge. The casing itself is still intact. And the buttons all work... However, upon looking at the 3D screen, I saw it was practically destroyed.

My 3DS was purchased in June of 2011. It's been through three repairs and rigorous gameplay. If I were more careful, it could have probably lasted the rest of the generation. But alas, today I must start anew. I'll try and get an aqua blue one in it's memory.

3DS, you will be missed.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

I promise to not derail threads. Request from theblackdragon

<slaps @kyuubikid213> how could you do that to the poor thing? Anyway, make sure to transfer your data over so it can live on in a new body

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

You're still better off sending it in for a repair to Nintendo. If you bought anything off the eShop, then that's the only way to get your games back.

Also, if you can still access the 3DS to 3DS transfer option in the system settings, then you can just transfer your games that way if you do end up buying another one.

that's why I charge my 3DS in a place where no one can trip in the wire and in the very middle of the table sorrounded by stuff I'd care lees if broken....

Time for a new 3DS for me too.

Mine won't charge anymore. Luckily, it's about fully charged, so I should still be able to do a system transfer if I am careful...

Why don't you just buy a new battery from Nintendo? Or is it something to do with the actual system?

If you've charged it 1000 times, it's probably just your battery.

It only charges if the charger is in a certain position, so I think it's the system. Plus, the circle pad is busted (pretty badly, the white cover on it came off, revealing the black underneath), the top screen has 2 permanent marks on it, the bottom screen has scratches galore, and wherever I tap on the touch screen with the stylus, it registers it to the direct right of where I tap, and I've calibrated the screen a million times with no solution. And this is about 2 and a half years after I bought the 3DS. I need a new one anyway.

Nintendo would probably hook you up with new everything if you just send it in. I sent mine in for what I thought were some blown speakers(which ended up not even being blown according to their tests) and they replaced my circle pad, touchscreen, speakers, and top screen for free with the warranty. They'd probably do the same for for $80 out of warranty, then you could just use the $90 you save to buy a couple games or something.

EDIT: Also, I have like over $300 worth of DLC games, so they're probably like, "Hook this fool up", when they see my homescreen. IDK.

Thanks for the information. I'll look into that. I have about $300 worth of games on my 3DS too, so it's important to me to not lose any of them.

EDIT: The warranty on my 3DS expired, though.

Just call them and telk them everything needs to be fixed, including the touch screen, charger port, circle pad, etc. Then tell them you want to make sure you get your DLC back. They test the entire system, so they'll make sure everything works properly.

They probably won't even touch the CPU or memory at all.

EDIT: It costs $80 to fix it, and they consult you over the phone about all the details before hand.

Gotta love Nintendo for this, even without the awesome game lineup, this is the best reason to love them.

I need a new one too. My screen is broken. And it would take $150 to fix through Nintendo so it's just cheaper to buy a new one. Hence why I am getting the red limited edition Pokemon X & Y one.

Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

The day has come. Gamestop had a trade-in offer where an extra 50% of credit is added when trade-ins go toward a used product.
I bought a Cosmo Black 3DS today for $58.
However, I did have to trade in a fair amount of games.
(Off Topic) I no longer own Animal Crossing New Leaf, Fire Emblem Awakening, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Chronicle Samurai Warrior, Tekken 3D Prime Edition, Heroes of Ruin, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and Splinter Cell 3D. And those are just the 3DS games I traded in.
Now to get a job and buy back Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem, and Shin Megami Tensei.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.

Yeah, they accept broken stuff at a much reduced rate. I plan to trade mine in for a Zelda 3DS XL

I did spill my old DS once but I got a new one as a way of saying it evolved.

But after getting a few scratches on my 3ds touch screen, I use screen protectors just to be safe. Not that the scratches bother me but to play it safe.

I don't think I would want to replace my cosmo 3ds although I do plan to get another 3DS just so to get backup.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why
