Topic: Thoughts on alternative design for Circle Pad Pro XL?

Most of us wanted the 3DS and 3DS XL to have a secondary circle pad and Nintendo listened for the most part. Only they decided to sell a second one separately as an accessory. As I was reading/watching reviews on both the Circle Pad Pro and Circle Pad Pro XL there was one recurring complaint on the design. The fact that the user's index finger becomes cramped due to having to hold a tight "claw" position in order to use the R trigger. Also the fact that both accessories make the handheld wider than necessary.

I had the idea of moving the second circle pad to the area between the B button and the power button via a hinged "flap" that could be flipped upward to allow the 3DS XL to be placed into the accessory and then flipped back down to lock it in. The idea is to achieve something close to the following image. (Note this image is photoshopped [albeit poorly and lazily]) http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll166/xXToYeDXx/3DS_XL_134...

I thought about using software like AutoCAD to lay out a a visual design but to say I'm not a very good artist is like saying water is wet. The idea is to solve two problems.

1) Move the second circle pad to a more "natural" and comfortable position
2) Eliminate the need for a "replacement" R trigger on the accessory so the user can use the R trigger on the 3DS XL itself.

The Z triggers would still be present as the accessory itself would retain it's ergonomic hand grip design.

Note: This is not a real alternative design in the sense that Nintendo is thinking about it. This is just my personal idea and I may try and contact Nintendo if enough people think it's a good idea.
