Oh, and along with messaging, I would really enjoy a Calendar/Alarm as well. I'm sure the only reason they took it out was because you can buy them on the eShop now, but those are pretty basic features that should come bundled in with nearly all electronics. I would REALLY love the feature if they were located next to the Game Notes, Friends List, Notifications, and Internet Browser. Being able to access the calendar at all times and being able to add events as needed would be great, along with being able to set an alarm while you're in the middle of playing a game.
Edit: Oh yeah!! I thought of another thing lol I'm using the web browser right now and I would LOVE the addition of tabs.

You guys have some cool ideas! However, the alarm system idea may not work. The 3DS has no way to project sound while the system is closed. If you were to leave it open, maybe.

Well I'd like to see the 3D camera they talked about come up, not sure I'd use it but I know a lot of people would appreciate it.
huh? it already has a 3d camera. i use it all of the time. were they talking about some sort of improvement to the camera?

They are talking about the 3D video recording. I think Nintendo would have to really work with it to really get a recording. If they do pull it off, they videos wouldn't be too big. I can't stop thinking about the gameboy camera with printer when I think of this...

Well, with the 3DS Sound program, you are able to close the system and still listen to music with headphones; maybe they can prevent sleep mode from disabling the speakers while the alarm program is in use. Just a possible solution for something that will probably never exist =P

cyphid nailed it, that's what I was exactly talking about. Miyamoto or someone important from there mentioned the hardware is capable of it and was considering adding it at a later firmware release. Since they have not done it yet, I mentioned it since they offered it up as a possibility.

I would like the photo manipulation features included in the DSi, Super Game Boy support for all existing and future compatible Game Boy games (and the ability to emulate GBC games in GB mode would also be really cool), and the ability to suspend DS and DSiWare games in the same way that 3DS games can be suspended. Oh, and Flash for the internet browser, or at the very least, the ability to view YouTube videos (even if we're restricted to say 240p or 320p).

All I want is flash to watch videos online. That's it.
Sure it can. It works when I use the alarm in Mario Clock, a DSiWare app.

When I push the power button it turns off the system instead of taking me to a a sleep mode screen that ask me if I want to turn off the system. I'd like an option to disable that. It serves no purpose because say you do accidentally hit the power button while playing a game it still exits you out causing you to lose unsaved data. If I want to put the system into sleep mode I'll just close the lid.
I'd also like to see taxes either removed from the eshop or charged before when you buy the points, it's very obnoxious that you put $5 on your account, but you can't buy a $5 game because you don't have the extra cents to cover taxes so you have to put a full $10 to buy a $5 game with taxes. It's not so bad that you have to pay taxes it's that the taxes make the money on your account add up to bizarre numbers. That's just a very bad payment system that I'm sure is deterring some from using the eShop, though to be fair some states are exempt from having to pay those taxes. In my opinion they should have just stuck with Nintendo points.

For me the most important thing is messaging service. Simple, limited-length messages would do, although I certainly would welcome something similar to the resting-in-peace WiiSpeak Channel, with the ability to make videoconferences with people. Pokemon Black/White running on DSi has this functionality, so it is perfectly possible to do it on a way more powerful system the 3DS is.
Flash - not necessarily. The 3DS CPU is not powerful enough to play back Youtube videos smoothly, let alone allow you to run any flash-based games. There is just no point in implementing something that can't be done right. Hardware acceleration is out of question here I think because PICA200 GPU does not have any programmable shader units, and these are required for any Flash acceleration to work. So I'd skip that.
Alarm clock coupled with some form of mini-organizer would be nice, though there are apps on the DSiWare with that functionality and Nintendo could be reluctant to include something like that for free in their console, as it would undermine it's partner's business.
3D video recording would be nice, but as cyphid already stated - Nintendo would really have to work very hard on it, and we don't know if it's even possible at all. Saving a photo to the SD card takes a second or two, and that's far too long for any kind of video recording. Also - movies would be of pretty weak quality and viewable really only on 3DS. So I see no point in that.

Increase the Volume/loudness when using Headphones...If that's even possible. That's honestly my only gripe so far with the 3DS, that and it's fiddly headphone input.

the messaging is definitely the biggest problem, i've only played mercenaries with 1 person on my friend list so far because it's just too hard to ask whoever's online if they want to play.
i would like to know if the picture quality is capable of being improved, obviously the camera's are going to be .03 megapixels no matter what but maybe allowing higher quality file sizes could improve things a little bit. i cringe at the thought of what video would look like if the file size is as minimal as it is with photos.

I thought of another one! hahah I would love the ability to rearrange the order of my friends in my friends list. I have more interest in the online status of some friends more than others, and I would like them to be closest to the left, reducing the time it takes me to search for them (even though that time isn't very long =P).

any kind of chat involving sentences, not just a VERY limited letter number.a chat involved with the firends list. and a friend list that actually works well so yeah, were are in a gaming era where online and communication is a standard. nintendo is late for this matter, they gotta go back on track.
also, icons on the main menu to show faster, like caching them on the console memory. its minor yeah, but it would make it slicker.
more things involved with street passing, else than Mii plaza. i already got everything i could from mii plaza. How about a small fighting game related to Miis. everytime you streetpass, you get a fight opportunity, that would work like the Save Mii. you can go at it once youre home, and scores and stats would upload on next streetpass, or sent directly via wifi. I liked that Wii U demo where miis could roam around shooting at each other. i want that on my 3ds.
and demos. Why no demo yet ? you think you can sell more games without demos ?

It seems strange that they didn't include any way of messaging your friends other than having a very short status message. The idea of only having one code and being able to see when your friends are on and what they're playing is a step forward from the Wii... but the lack of messaging is a step backwards.
