I agree with the non-FF fan a few posts ago. I do have the original, and I am a fan of the old N-era titles, 9 and (yes even) 10 and 13 but the rest of the serious blows, hard. That said, the music, the fun characters, the scenarios, the three ways to attack music in how the stages unfold are just genius fluid easy fun to start and a trick to master when they get into the upper tier stuff. The cash value is very much here as long as you're not deaf and/or blind.
I am curious about this button mode though. I liked how it didn't feel bad or block the screen which kind of ruined Elite Beat Agents for me as it just was a hot mess. But knowing the motions of the first game of this series, using sticks and buttons makes me wonder if it handles like Gitaroo Man as I LOVED that game both times I owned it when I've had a PS2.

I have it preordered! I'm excited. It kind of seems like "more of the same" but I'm excited anyway. I loved the first game and I love Final Fantasy music.
Never played the first but I just played the demo of this one.
This game is a MUST HAVE and I'm not even really a FF fan. I'm just bummed I can't preorder it.
I've never actually played a FF game more than once. Theatrhythm is one of my favourite 3DS games!
That said, if there was a Dragon Quest or Zelda version I feel TFF will be dethroned
After playing the demo, I agree with @Morphbug about the green notes in the Field Stages. I just don't see the need to change it to force you to move the stylus so much or so fast.
I was planning to buy this day 1 but after the demo I am not so sure. I guess you can get used to it, though.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
The problems will come when I try going back to the original
I don't think playing the first one after playing CC will be as hard to adjust as you think. If anything, it makes the first game seem much easier when doing field songs.

I just played this song again and got 9,931,864. Keep trying and you'll get used to it! Don't be discouraged by the change.
Got my collectors edition delivered since Saturday evening and loving it. The song selection is much more convenient with the search feature and add to favorite. I like how they have most songs unlocked at the start, well kind off. Have to complete 4 song to get most of them and some more (forgot how much but not a lot) to get the EMS songs.
Btw if you played the demo, you'll unlock 10 more characters to use off the bat.

I was on the fence about this since I spent over 50 hours on the first and didn't think this one would provide enough new but after seeing some features and reading Tom's review I've changed my toon. I'm might not get it this week or next but hopefully within a months time.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I would prefer Zelda over Drangon Quest but I don't think Nintendo would ever do a music game for the series. The one and only toon stuck in my head from Dragon Quest it the battle theme from the very first. Can't get it out of my head lately.

I would indeed love to see a Dragon Quest Theatrhythm, but for now I'm content with Curtain Call.
@Spoony_Tech
I spent around 40 hours on the original and it's DLC, but I'm still picking up Curtain Call day 1. There are quite a few small things that make it a worthwhile purchase for me. For one, getting rid of the opening and closing mini-game where you simply tapped the notes as they went over the crystal and instead making them into FMS or BMS stages. It may seem like a small thing, but I'm really glad they made that change. There aren't any songs exclusive to the Chaos Shrine this time either, plus the Quest Medley mode looks way better than the Chaos Shrine anyway. Online multiplayer looks fairly addicting as well.

Wait, this one has online this time? That's news to me and would seal the deal!

I don't think Nintendo would do it personally but there's a decent chance they'd let Squeenix make a Zelda Theatrhythm. They are being far more open with their franchises lately.
An important note is that Nintendo have worked closely with the developer in the past - indieszero are the developers of NES Remix, Nintendo 3DS Guide and Electroplankton.
