Topic: The Top Five Most Obnoxious Things In Kid Icarus: Uprising

The amount of content. I STILL haven't completed 1 treasure hunt, or gotten more than maybe 5 weapons over 300 value. (I pre-ordered it, too!) I still haven't been able to beat a level on 9.0 intensity, and can't seem to hold on to hearts.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I do find it funny that people are complaining that KID Icarus is too kiddy. They promoted it with cartoons! What were you expecting?

I'm fine with the style of KI: U but they didn't promote it with cartoons, they promoted it with anime and most anime is not kiddy.

@ouroborous - It sounds like you were playing it wrong.

Out of all of these complaints... this one here is by far the worst...

There really is nothing to complain about overall, the controls take getting used to it but after a while it's a piece of cake and if you still find them difficult... well you obviously aren't very good with your hands. The story is exceptionally good, except for the last chapter in my opinion, it's just so meh. The amount of content is outstanding and you can easily waste 5 hours just looking through the idols and reading the description.

If you still find problems with this game, in the words of Reggie himself... [youtube:5e_dJHLsuPM]

@Demonic You were supposed to debate ChocoGoldfish's comment, not make me press the repeat button on that awesome soundbyte over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....
But seriously, I didn't find the controls a problem. I got used to the controls quickly, and once you do that there's no problem.

@PikminMonster If I debated it, he would just come back and bring crap up and I really can't be bothered when he gets into his little rants. It's better for everyone.

I found the controls hard the first few times, but it grows on you, especially when you get the settings just right for yourself. The intensity gauge is easily the best part though, make it easier or harder for yourself? Kid Icarus Uprising is just staggering.

Thanks for adding nothing to the discussion! Next!

The only thing I don't like about the game is that online you can't play with friends and randoms at the same time. You should be able to get a group of friends together in a party and challenge random people. Other than that, this game is my Game of the Year.

@SamuraiShyGuy I don't find it that much of a problem... I do however find the lag off putting at times, even during games on Nearby where I'm the only human playing. What is going on here?!

I also wish you could swap weapons with other players... that would be even more awesome. Also a spectator mode like on SSBB, bet hearts on who you think will win and you can either earn double the hearts you bet or a weapon or power.

They could have done a lot more with this game, but for what it is, it's still amazing!

@Demonic,
Those would have been awesome additions. It would be awesome to be able to trade weapons online with friends. As for the lag, it usually isn't a problem at all for me. Occasionally I will get lag when I'm playing Japanese players, though. And when the lag comes, it's nearly impossible to hit anybody with your shots.

Not really a complaint I guess, but does anyone know what the point of sacrificing hearts to Paletuna was?

Do you get special weapons or powers if you give enough? I did it a few times but I got nothing. seems like a pretty pointless adition IMO.

.
It makes weapons on sale appear in the solo shop.
The more hearts you put in, the more sale items appear at one time, though the shop needs to refresh afor them to appear.
Sale weapons cost 50% less hearts, which makes it a worthy investment in some cases. Also, it might support higher value weapons in the shop, but that's just my guess.

Mimicuties, the best weapon you can use against them is swords.

Don't get why people say Mimicuties are a problem. If you can keep your distance, dodging them ahold be easy; when they slide quickly towards you, you just dodge and melee.

But I hate Clubberskulls. On high difficulty those are EVIL.

Whenever I dodge them, they just turn and kick me in my new location before I can hit them or dodge a second time.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.

Well the next time you see a Mimicutie in a level, try and kill it with melee attacks. Now you know what it feels like

If you know when to run, it's not to difficult.
They used to be the band of my existence too, but then I played The Three Trials like 9 times, and got used to fighting them.
But I guess it's just based on my playstyle.

They are very bad in tight corners, and the one on chapter 18 must be avoided at all costs.
Other than that, it's an enemy that can be avoided, but also has a bit too much health, along with the cheapest moves. Disabling it with confusion, ice, or petrification takes care of them.
.
Most of my top 5 is in Together, because I've seen a lot of cheap tactics and weapons lately.
.
5.
Getting kicked from a game.
There is no ability for a player to kick another to my knowledge, so when the servers don't allow me to play with certain people, or boot me towards the end of a winning match, I get frustrated. Not higher because it only happens every 1 in 5 matches or so.
4.
Mega Laser abuse and spamming
Pretty self explanatory, but when I see multiple mega laser sandwiching me in a tight spot, or about to make a run for safety only to be blocked by a mega laser, I get somewhat annoyed. Not higher because very rarely does the laser itself kill me.
3.
Super Armor with melee weapon abuse.
Self explanatory in the cases of Raptor Claws, Samurai Blade, and F***ing Taurus Arm.
2.
Energy Barrier spamming
I use staffs that usually 1 hit kill under most ranges. When a person gets lucky timing and flings a shot back at me, or hides behind a barrier with a homing weapon at mid range, I get very frustrated, almost to the point where I "rage quit".
1.
Aeries Armor abuse on melee weapons
More than self explanatory in the above cases. When a player has Aeries Armor equipped, your only option is to turn invisible, a liberty that I don't bother to use.
When a person has Aeries Armor, you can't touch them.

Sounds like a rant to me. I've been in worse situations, like instantly dying as Pit in LvD in the volcano stage by being shot into the crater

Yeah, it kind of is, but one that had to be made.
.
I still hate falling, and it happens occasionally, but I eventually became self aware enough to stay off the grated area of Lava Basin, (and stopped playing LvsD) so that would probably be number 6, the only thing is that can be somewhat prevented, unlike Aeries Armor and Energy Barrier.
