@ByDarwinsBeard Condescension? No, TBD was explaining that PhoenixAran's post about the N64 slot was in response to ray62's suggestion of a GBA slot. By exaggerating it into an N64 slot (clearly impractical) she was highlighting its absurdity. Her OoT mention was a tongue-in-cheek jab at backwards compatibility and 3DS remakes, but that wasn't the actual point of the post.

Of course, every time you analyse a joke it's not funny anymore.

We're all very tongue-in-cheek on this forum. Plenty of unmarked humour to go around. It's mostly done with good intentions, so please don't take it the wrong way.

I don't mind them being close, but the D-pad definitely looks like it could be uncomfortable to use. Hopefully this isn't the case in everyday use.

remember guys, the 3DS shown at E3 isn't the final design. It could well change.

@bro2dragons I was going to post that article too. The design is pretty much final, so they won't be moving major components like D-pads and analog slidepads around.

EDIT: @irken Oh. I hope they smooth out the casing so it's more like the Lite/DSi. I hate all those grooves and notches around the place - in fact they remind me of the DS Phat somehow.

Besides, there's nowhere else for the D-pad and slidepad to go (except switch places, I guess, but that would make even less sense than the current configuration).

I personally don't mind the alignment of the slide pad and control pad, other than the obvious problem for those poor lefties.

it did i thought u guys were talking about the pad beeing played on regular ds games.
