This is kinda wild, but I hope nintendo uses these coins as a "discount" for 3DSWare and DSiWare

Or maybe like Club Nintendo, where you can spend coins (I think it's stars in the UK) to get rewards?

As long as you switch the date back when you go out to get hits, it works fine. My bro does it more than me, but everyday we've been able to get hits from each other.

i don't think I'll cheat to get play coins. 10 a day will be fine untill theirs more stuff to do with them.

I don't understand the point in cheating it. I've got 105 coins after I've bought all the upgrades for the AR games and bought a few puzzle pieces and heroes for the Mii Plaza games.

Do you get coins by the amount of walking in a day or overall? because I've walked ~180 steps w/3DS and I don't think I have any coins.

@fishman. You get a play coin for every 100 steps you take. You can earn a maximum of 10 play coins a day.

i am a cheater i put the 3ds in my pocket and shake it sometimes i walk or hop around the house to get the steps

You're not cheating the 3DS, the 3DS is cheating you!
Hopping around the house takes way more energy than walking!

@nicknintendo68 - Maybe it's just me, but if you don't take 1,000 steps the 3DS recognizes per day just doing regular activities and you don't have a severe physical handicap, that's a pretty huge lifestyle issue.

Yes, I agree. It's way too easy to get 1000 steps. I got 1000 steps just by walking from my apartment to the bus stop, and then from the drop-off point to class. 1000 steps had been reached by 8:00 am. It's kind of ridiculous, actually.

On most Sundays, where I tend to like staying at home and recovering from the week, I wouldn't even get close to 1000 steps.

Otherwise I agree. Besides that, health experts tend to recommend 10000 steps in one day is a healthy lifestyle. 10 times the play coin limit.

I could reach that 1000 steps limit easily. But, even if I got a 3DS (which I'm not planning on doing for the moment; too expensive where I live) I still wouldn't be taking it outside. Given the price it has, and the fact that my university's campus is located on a pretty bad zone, there's a big chance that someone would steal it on the first week since I got it

I've been keeping it tucked in my purse everywhere I go, mainly hoping to meet some other Mii's in the Plaza! It racks up lots of steps too. It's not nearly as much fun to just buy my heroes as it is to meet them though.

I got my 3DS last weekend at the Nintendo World Store in Times Square and met 3 Mii's almost right away! Now back home in Michigan for a week and haven't met any. Stupid Michigan.

ya i would get 10,000 or more if i put it in pocket and go thrown a day of school and back i dont use my 3ds often only to complete my smg2 puzzle and alittle find mii .once ill get in the mood i may go for a walk with my dog and get the steps instead of cheating just to get some coins xD

hey guys, on the ar games, after you can access the shop, buy the globe (it's 1 playcoin) and shoot it a whole bunch. get ready to take a pretty sweet picture.. unfortunately, you will have to buy the globe again... just shoot the globe, you'll see what i mean.
