@EOTW: I found him once and he did the same to me, I read the shield skill "ricochet" helps a lot. I was able to get ricochet by letting some giant tiger that was also red just beat on me until my tank learned it. I found that huge tiger dude hiding in the most NW area of the hidden forest called "tower of elementals" and he was in the open area south of the water shrine/tower. I just haven't been able to get the shadow giant to re-spawn now, ugh!
I'm trying to figure out if its possible to master the "contract" spells. So far I'm thinking not since I spent an hour in a battle spamming the water and wind contract, It would just be totally awesome if you can master those spells >.<
So I've found that fighting the shadow giant and running away is actually a really effective way of grinding. I'm not sure if it's just chance but my guys seem to level and master new skills like crazy when fighting him, where it's becoming less and less common to earn stat bumps from normal enemies.
I enjoyed this demo quite a bit more than the one for "Bravely Default." It's still not something of which I want to get the full version, though. I don't care much for the exploration focus, the story isn't my cup of tea, and why must Atlus always ruin their character designs with that stupid chibi style?
By the way, is there any way to see what each enemy's weaknesses are?
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

@EOTW: I beat the Shadow Giant on my first try. I don't know which characters you have, but here's what I did: I had Eloise use the Water Contract for some minor healing each turn, and then I had her heal with her Medicine Box when needed and attack when not needed. (By the way, you can heal someone's who's already fainted as long as it's not the healer him/herself.) I had Liger (Is that his name?) keep spamming his Forked Arrows until his SP ran out. Owen guarded the team and let loose with his Cleave attack when it felt safe to do so. I somehow managed to hang on whenever one of my party members was confused and eventually managed to take the thing down.

@BulbasaurusRex: Well it's not Atlus's game, they're just localizing it. They actually don't use that style often if ever. Not sure which Atlus games you're playing if that's the case. They're also localizing Stella Glow so once again not their game.

What about the "Bravely Default" and "Etrian Odyssey" games? Do they just have a weird habit of localizing handheld JRPGs that do use that style?

@BulbasaurusRex: Atlus had nothing to do with Bravely Default. That's a Square Enix game that was published by Nintendo outside of Japan. I'm not an Atlus expert (only played Shin Megami Tensei IV and Devil Survivor) but I can only think of two examples that use chibi style right now. Etrian Odyssey series and Persona Q.
It's its, not it's.

The characters in Persona Q aren't chibi nor are the Etrian series. Both have hand drawn art characters anime style. Once again Atlus doesnt really use Chibi characters.

Persona Q does use chibified versions of Persona characters.
With Etrian Odyssey, it seems to depend on the character. Some character classes, mostly the "cute and young" female variations, have pseudo chibi features.
@Spoony_Tech: To my thinking, a true animé style includes long limbs, large hips, acceptably proportionate heads, and large busts on most of the women, certainly not what we see in the Etrian Odyssey games.
So, is anyone going to answer my question on whether or not there's a way to view the enemies' weaknesses?

TBH, there is no "true" anime style.
Dragon Ball, Cowboy Bebop, Crayon Shin-Chan, & Akame ga Kill all look very distinct from one another (with the latter being the one with the most "cliché" look), but they are all unquestionably anime.
It's true that there is a certain style that reigns dominant, but even that evolves over time. Heck, older Fire Emblem character designs, for example, were just as much anime inspired as the newest designs, it's just that the style is what was predominant in the 80's, when the series was concieved, and it looks vastly different than the common artstyle we see today.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Persona Q characters aren't full on chibi, although I'd say they're chibi-esque. They don't possess the "super-deformed" characteristics that would qualify them for the term chibi, though.
Etrian Odyssey characters aren't chibi at all, although the games do make extensive use of loli character portraits. Lolis aren't chibis, however.
