Topic: The future of the 3DS?

I"m not entirely sold on the 3DS's future. For a while now(if you read my posts) I have kind of been over hyping the thing, but now i've been thinking... With the 3d raising concerns about messing up eyes, everyone about the launch line-up, all the oline features not coming till may, so far no messheing system, and street pass/spot pass concerns and problems, and the price, I honestly think the 3ds's future looks pretty bleak. Then again i might be over-exaggerating. What do you all think?

It's just the launch line up. I'm not too surprise a lot of people think it's weak. But it's really subjective,I for one think it's great. Yeah all the online features not coming till may does suck,but at least they're taking their time with it instead of rushing it. And it will come, so we should be happy with just that. The messaging system we could get later on in an update,and the price. I think it's fair since we're paying 50 less then japan. Again it's really subjective.
There's always mixed reactions when a new piece of technology launches. I think the 3DS's future will be just fine with a few bumps at the start(right now).

I agree, but will the general public understand? When someone who buys this who hasn't been following all the news, they will probably just think the 3ds has no eShop, Netflix,etc. and think it's a watered down device and spread the word.

The general public dont pay attention to that kind of stuff, for them its a 3D DS with better graphics. And they will buy it

People who knows what its about also will buy it.

I personally think its going to be on DS level sales rate. Or pretty close.

Ah,you're totally right on that one. I'm sure they won't mind though, with the 3D. There were people that didn't know Wii had online.(not kidding.) I'm sure there will be some complaining though,but in the end when all this stuff does roll around in May some people will spread that around and will balance things out.
