Quick on the heels of yesterday's press release for MMA Supremacy, which indicated that PlayStation Vita is coming out this fall, news has emerged from the UK in the form of a flier, indicating that Vita might be coming out sooner than you think.
A reader sent us an advertisement from Blockbuster in UK, seen below, that dates both Vita models for European release on Friday, October 28th.
We also reached out to Sony for comment, and they confirmed that Vita would receive a "phased global release" this holiday season. Whether or not that means that the phased release will be completed in 2011 or only begin in 2011 remains to be seen.
I want one sooo bad but I'll wait for the price to go down more than likely. Not to mention I'll have 20 free games and the fall Nintendo released games to occupy my time... Maybe I'll trade in my PS3 + games & accessories for one. I don't play the thing anymore anyway.
I think Sony is making an announcement in 3 days regarding the release of Vita- which may have also pushed Nintendo to announce 3DS' new price (among plenty of other reasons which Nintendolife did not even add to their article).
PS: Don't you trade your PS3 to Gamestop or something like that :3
I was thinking about putting it up for sale on Kijiji first. I have the PS3 + two controllers and eight games. Some fairly new like Black Ops, some older... I'm might try asking $250 for it all and see what I get back in offers. $250 would mostly cover my Vita...
I wonder if supplies will be highly limited like the Wii? I mean to bump up the release date by in some cases five months would be huge.
I don't think you have to worry. Lots of regulars will not buy Vita because of it's $250 price point, just as the 3DS. The common consumer. Unless, they spy with their little eye that there's a $300 version and swarm the $250, I don't think you'll remotely have a hard time finding Vitas around. 3DS' new price, along with the Mario games this holiday season, that's a whole 'nother story in itself.
And good price for the PS3 bundle you got. I would say $280. So you can at least get one game with Vita easily :3
Correction, I actually have ten games because I forgot about the two free games Sony gave away because of all the hacking nonsense. I just posted it all on online for $350. I'm thinking people will want to talk me down no matter the price so I aimed high. Sony is doing a PS3 price cut in August so I'm going to try and get this sold before then.

Ugh, you're right. I realized this after I starting looking at how to delete my info off the console. I had to format it. I did a quick format because a full format takes seven hours and I already have a guy lined up to take it at 7 tonight. Long story short I lost the two games on the HD so I called the guy back, told him the story and I bumped the price down to $320. No big deal, $320 is still a pretty good deal considering it's three years old and the PS3 is getting price cut down to $199 next month. Not to mention that those two games I lost were free. Looks like I have my Vita fund setup if I want one.

Yeah, thanks for the advice guys. I deleted my billing data before I did the format. The guy would need to put in a lot of work to hack my email to hack my PSN account and then somehow find my billing data. I think I'm somewhat safe now. Safer than say selling an old PC...
Maybe they're dieing to get their system on the market so that they don't miss out on the Holiday rush and potentially permanently lose a bunch of customers to Nintendo; most people don't buy multiple consoles.

They were already planning for a holiday release. Maybe late October counts as Holiday now, I don't know.
Alright so either way it doesn't matter at the end of the day. I'm not going to sit here and argue over something so meaningless.
To everybody else who commented above. The guy showed up early. $320 for a PS3 that was collecting dust. I should have sold the thing five months ago, I probably could have got more.
I guess you did alright, seems you gave him a bit of a deal at that price though given all the games with it and stuff. I know in time I'll get the Vita, but I also know that $250 is too much for a handheld and hated doing it on 3DS technically (I worked it so I ended up paying $110 less selling my DSi on craigslist.) The thing is Sony is stuck to patterns they follow, and I give it a year if that when they end up baked just like Nintendo due to the bad economy and they'll be forced to cut price and/or play the bundle game. Sony nuts bought PSP then it flatlined and fell, to rebound they did the PSP2K model for 200 w/game, download game, and umd, with a 1GB memory card. Watch them do the same thing at the same price, then it'll move, and considering they do it with the biggest guns, odds are even money it's the Uncharted Vita title coming out. At times I wish I had my PSP still but pirating jerkoffs killed it with such high levels of theft most people canceled their good projects and I can only take jrpgs to a point.
