This game is fun. It's very difficult for sure, but it's fun. It's neat to see the homages to The Legend of Zelda and other games sprinkled throughout. You guys that are avoiding it solely on the mention that it has religious references are missing out. It may not even be your religion that it's referencing! Take a moment to analyze the trailers, the gameplay is solid and the setting is some hell of some sort, so it explains all the monsters, bodily fluids and craziness.

I understand that some of you may be offended by the game, but if you don't like it don't buy it. I'm not to keen on that new Zelda book that tries to imply that the series has christian themes, but it has a right to exist and I simply won't read the book, and won't bother those who want to read it.
If Nintendo okay'd this, it would be a big sign that they are more open to what's being released on their platforms and would help get rid of the stigma that they "hate mature games".
but if it does come to 3DS I would recommend picking it up if you like rougelikes

@Oddy: I'm referring to people that haven't read or watched anything else. ...and why exactly would I need to read someone else's review when I've already played and beaten the game myself? The setting is hellish, why wouldn't "Hell" be offputting? What're you expecting, rainbows and candycanes?

I've seen too much of the game to try it. I play games for entertainment. Not to be disturbed and disgusted.
@pix Alright, you win. I can't force people to play games that goes against their beliefs or sensitivities. I just find that a twisted story seems like a breath of fresh air to me.
@pixelman: It's no loss to me that you find it too disturbing and disgusting. At the very least you have a better formed idea of what the game is about now, so I've done my service.

That's exactly what I hate about roguelikes, and to be honest, after watching the gameplay trailer i pretty much lost what little curiosity I had about this game, lol. Plus, the gameplay trailer said that it was 'never the same game twice' in terms of the randomized dungeon — i'm really, really not a fan of random dungeons. Sorry, syko :3

Religion is a non-issue. Nintendo had no problem allowing Devil Survivor on DS and 3DS despite massive amounts of sacrilegious content.
Devil Survivor Spoilers You literally get to slaughter God's angels in the game. You can choose to turn your back on God and let the Devil take over the world. End Spoilers
They are also bringing Devil Survivor 2 to the DS in the Spring. Religion isn't going to stop them. The new Nintendo is embracing M rated content. They said so themselves at E3.
Play it, and decide whether you like it, there's a demo on Newgrounds. I think it's alright, I have some friends who really like it. The only thing I don't like are the keyboard controls, though they would probably be pretty good with the circle pad attachment.
