Old news is news I'd missed before somehow, so it's new to me.
@lz: If they had been designed the same as DS cards, they could've. Nintendo's always good about that kind of thing, though...GBC-only games didn't have the notch to work in the old Gameboy, for example. This design difference is quite similar, jutting out over where it would fit in a DS just to make sure it doesn't.
