I just got this game too. I'm really impressed with the graphics. The 3D is really neat looking. I was a little bothered by the lack of any real unlockables. No hidden characters? Just a bunch of pointless figures to collect. Also the backgrounds of the battle arenas don't have any animation. They are just lifeless cutouts. Still this game looks pretty dang close to the console version so I don't have many complaints. The touch pad controls for combos are a big help but isn't that kinda cheating?
Anyway great game if you love fighters.

Stuck with the american voice actors as well which is a shame. Why was a 2gb limit imposed upon this when the media can hold upto 8gb

Well that sucks. The English voice actors are just plain awful, IMO. I might actually have to skip out on this because of that. Their voices were just soooo irritating when I played it on the 360. Even my brother hated it and had to switch to Japanese voices as quick as he could. Ugh...that really sucks.

I'm contemplating picking this up, but I'm worried about online lag. The last fighter I owned was Tatsunoku vs Capcom on Wii, and online lag was a big problem and took away quite a bit of replay value. My broadband is about 3Mb speed on average, so I was wondering if anyone with similar internet speeds has played online?

@Thomas I have about 1.5 MB speed, and I don't experience much lag online. There's a little bit at the start of the match, and it also depends on who you're playing against. Otherwise, it's lag free.

My Broadband is less than 3Mb (1Mb sad i know) and i only had lag 4 outta the 30 times i played online so far. It was probably due to other things using my router as well like my laptop also i was playing far away from it. You should get this game, I had no problem connecting to ppl on my friends list.

Alright, I'm going through the trials with Ryu and I ran into the Metsu Hadouken combo. It says to rotate the joystick from the bottom to the right(x2) + punch(x3) And it never works :/ But I can get the shinkuu hadouken to work (rotate the joystick from the bottom to the right(x2) +punch once) Help?

Thanks for the advice on the internet play, that's all good to hear. Consider me convinced! I think I'll be picking this up in the next few weeks.

Cheers!

I'm (hopefully) getting a job in several months, a very small part being to save up for the 3DS. Obviously, I won't be buying the 3DS just for this game, as I have others that will satisfy me, but should I get this version or the PlayStation 3 version? I want it to be from someone who has played at least one version, preferably if you have played both.

I am willing to wait until the holiday season to get the game.

@Kat You're not the only one having trouble.

I feel like this game is too hard for me. I never say that. Basic combos are incredibly demanding, and pulling off many moves, especially the super and ultra combos, with any sort of consistency is extremely difficult. The 3DS' controls do NOT seem to work well for this game. Trying to do double quarter-circle Hadokens with Ryu left me doing Shoryukens over and over (both movements are extremely similar). Trying to use the circle pad at all leaves you jumping when you don't want to and not jumping when you want to, which can be extremely frustrating. It just doesn't work well for any advanced control. The d-pad is small and you have to stretch your thumb down pretty far to reach it. Trying to hit all three punch or kick buttons at the same time, with one of them being the R or L button, seems nearly impossible. The timing is stupidly demanding. And this is all just for performing the basic movements and attacks in the game, not even understanding the core dynamics of the fighting system.

Which brings me to my next point. There is absolutely NO possible way to learn how to play this game without an external resource. There isn't so much as a basic tutorial that would tell you what a focus move is or how to pull one off. And the secrets to how to actually play the game well instead of just learning to do the attacks and hoping that they hit are locked away deep inside unless you do some serious research to learn about it. This game isn't made for hardcore gamers, it's made for hardcore fighting game fans and most especially hardcore Street Fighter fans.

I don't like the idea of having to use the "handicap" of touch-screen triggered combos, but it's looking like I will have to if I want to play this game. Unfortunately that only makes part of this game easier.

Sorry for the whiny rant. I see a lot in this game that seems really awesome. But when I can't even handle the basic controls it's stupidly frustrating.

Stop complaining and GO PLAY GAMES.

that doesn't count as street fighter experience. Trust me--actually being able to control your characters (at their intended framerate, no less) adds a ton to the experience
