I mean, I understand why people hate it(even though I disagree) but I'm soooooo tired of the guys whining how the 3DS version is getting too much exposure when WiiU version should be superior and bla bla bla, every single time there's news on the 3DS version...........

And yet most screenshots are from the Wii U version or am I missing something?

Current games: Final Fantasy IX, Tetris 99

guess now I know when to avoid anything Nintendo related on the internet

Same here. I don't want any spoilers! Otherwise it'll be Kirby Triple Deluxe all over again!

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

Anyone who believes the 3DS version will overshadow the Wii U version is obviously impatient. We know next to nothing about the Wii U version because the 3DS version is releasing first. The details and specific reveals for the home console version will be shown later. I don't know why this is difficult for some people to comprehend. Aside from that fact, they each will feature different content, so one is not a direct upgrade over the other. I'll still be enjoying the 3DS version after the Wii U version is out.

As for reasoning behind the hate for the 3DS version, I think there's a number of reasons. Maybe the visuals look ugly to some people. Perhaps they are worried that it will be a watered down version of Smash, though we know by now it most certainly is not. Maybe people are having trouble grasping how it will feel on a handheld, especially the controls. Or, it could be as simple as "Smash is a home console game, therefore I oppose this handheld version". Both versions will have their perks, and I guarantee portable Smash Bros. will be a big reason to keep playing the 3DS version. Even if both versions were identical that would be true. The 3DS version having different content just sweetens the deal.

Beep.
That is all.

I agree. The game aint even out yet and people are already complaining. I prefer the 3DS version, but maybe that'll change.

Oh yeah, the spoilers xD I want to stay on this site in September, I just hope there wont be an article saying "Ridley, Chorus Men and all characters that you wanted playable in Smash Bros."
I really want everything to be a suprise. Altough I wouldn't mind a few stages getting spoiled...

I'm so hyped for this game, I think about it 24/7. Can't wait!

well, I'd be all for a vow to not spoil the game here in NL, but I think whoever doesn't feel like it should at least use the spoiler tags.
BTW do you guys think Nintendo will go all the way with the Amiibo 3DS support thing or maybe SSB(and other games) will be left out?

Just watched the trailer for smash bros 3ds on the eshop and noticed what could be at steeldiver subwars stage at around 1 minute in - has anyone else noticed this?

Happy Birthday, Sakurai

Also, I think 3DS should get something similar to Amiibo, but with the use of Streetpass. It would basically work excactly like Amiibo, but instead of giving your amiibo to friends, you exchange streetpass data with not only friends, but random people too. That info would be saved to your 3DS, to use his fighter everytime. If that did happen, I would prefer it over Amiibo.

And on the spoiler issue: There could be a seperate thread, that is spoiler free, and when the game comes out October 3, the thread gets deleted.

The problem with a spoiler free thread is the fact that all it takes to ruin it is one jerkish spoiler advocate.

This is an trophy, look at the background. I do hope we get a stage of it, though.

I'd love to continue visiting this site after the game is out in Japan, and I'd prefer as few spoilers as possible. That's asking quite a lot, really. Spoilers don't bother everyone, and people will most likely post stuff anyway. I certainly hope there won't be news articles on here containing spoilers either. I check those every day, and I'll surely see them when scrolling down the page.

Untitled
Pic of the day. In this Smash Bros. installment, this little guy is also making an appearance! I…don't know his name, but he's the Prince of the Sablé Kingdom. He's from the Game Boy game Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (translated as The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls), which was only released in Japan.
Untitled
Here's the trophy of the Sablé Prince. He transforms into a snake or a frog, and unloads multiple attacks on any opponent he catches. Keep attacking your foes when they're trapped in his dust cloud.

I love how there are so many assist trophies! Smash 4 now has two more assist trophies than Brawl which is 29!

Is that an assist? I thought he was an stage hazard for that stage shown in the background.

I have no knowledge of this character at all. Still, more assist trophies is always nice. Are there really only 29? Seems like there are more than that, but I could be wrong.

We don't actually know he's an assist, per se. Probably is. Doesn't seem like a stage hazard and he clearly isn't a newcomer. This kinda reminds me of a "leak" that was busted around the time Ike was confirmed. Or was it when Charizard/Greninja was confirmed... But anyways, I recall it listing "The Frog Prince" as a newcomer. Kinda funny that he's most likely an assist.

A nifty calendar (Updated 9/13/15)
The UGXloggery ... really needs an update.
