Well, I know what I'll be playing this summer between this and Mario Kart 8.

I'm impressed that Nintendo is making the game online mode as well. But I'm disappointed that it doesn't have anything single player.........

It'll definitely have single player options, no need to worry about that.

It'll surely have "Classic Mode" (wouldn't be Smash without Master Hand), "Home Run Derby", & "Break the Targets". Of course, it'll also have training & normal match modes as well.

Villains and minions change all the time. I don't see why the Tikis are so bad

So, we know that the 3DS version will have some retro stages, but how many do you think will be included, and what would you like to see?

I think there'll be 5 (though I hope for more, if it doesn't mean less new stages), and I'd like to see:

  • Electroplankton (Brawl)
  • Pictochat (Brawl)
  • Zebes (N64)

We already know about DK Jungle (Melee), & Balloon Fight (actually not sure if it's retro or not, but I think it was a stage in Brawl?)

1st.

  • I absolutely DO NOT WANT to see Electroplankton return as a stage. It's the worst stage to pick when it comes to fighting (yet it is entertaining as a stage on its own). I don't even play competitively and I think it's the worst stage in the whole series of Smash Bros. Sorry if I offended you but I'm still sticking with what I said.

2nd.

  • Balloon Fight is actually a new stage in the Smash Bros series. Not retro.

I personally want to see these stages return:

  • Princess Peach's Castle
  • Fountain of Dreams (imagine the beautiful water reflections... <3)
  • Luigi's Mansion
  • Delfino Plaza
  • Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
    and maybe Pictochat.

@RR529: Balloon Fight is a new stage. As to your question, I'd like to see any Melee or N64 stage that hasn't been brought back before, though I would love to see Brinstar Depths in the Wii U version in HD.

Brawl stages I would like to see:
1. WarioWare, Inc.
2. Pokemon Stadium 2
3. Yoshi's Island
4. Skyworld
Honestly, I think most of the Brawl stages will be in the Wii U stage, but we don't know for sure because we don't know yet how they will divide up retro stages between the two versions.

RR529

^Yeah, I just liked it (Electroplankton) because I'm a fan of the more surreal stages, lol.

But with with Balloon Fight & Living Room, it looks like the 3DS version already has a couple of good surreal locations

Forgot about Fountain of Dreams though, that would be cool.

For my throwback stage picks, I'll assume for now that Melee stages will only return on the 3DS version (consider that using the older stages would save much more space than using Brawl's stages) and I won't count any N64 stages. I mean, they didn't bring back any N64 stages in Brawl, so I don't see why they would bring them back now. I'd like to see:

  • Great Bay
  • Fountain of Dreams
  • Mute City
  • Brinstar Depths
  • Fourside

I also kinda wish they didn't bring back Jungle Japes again, I would have preferred Kongo Jungle from Melee... Big Blue would be fun to see again, too.

I dont think I ever seen mario as epic as he was before this nintendo direct...
(look at the scene where he charges at charzard.) I hope they have more alternate costumes for DLC BTW.

I wonder how the custom move sets will work...
