SSB requires multiplayer, which I can't see on the 3DS. The content would have to be like SSB64, and the franchise is known for its left to right stages. So, no.
Litter with faulty logics.
As in faulty is a new word for right?
Mario Kart estimates where people are, does the same on the Wii
In a fighting game the server has to know exactly where everyone is and what they're doing at every possible moment.
The Wii was hardly capable of this so I'm not sure why people believe the DS would be, as if Nintendo would put forth so much more effort to overcome such an obstacle.
Now that we've ruled out online multiplayer, you're stuck with only local. As fun as they may be for a day, or a half, grabbing three other friends with a 3DS and Smash Bros. will start to get tedious.
And Smash is not a single player game... So add all this with the whole exclusive thing and there's absolutely no chance.

SSB and Melee worked perfectly well without online multiplayer, as I recall.
EDIT: The HTML parser broke. Bit below the line break is my message.

According to EA's experience with the 3DS's new upgraded online system, it does seem possible actually.
SmashBros on 3DS could definitely work, Nintendo just has to make sure they dont overdo the 3D, and make sure the Multiplayer is as smooth as possible. The 3D could come in time like when someone dies and they hit the screen (only instead they hit you). 3D could also come in with the stage structure, BigN could probably make the stages more expansive and multi-plane. Oh and the Final Smashes would have to look spectacular with in your face awesomeness, no brainer. If Capcom can do StreetFighter, and Tecmo can DeadorAlive, Nintendo should do SmashBros!
While I might have tired of the series personally, it still has a large ammount of fans, so I could see this appearing on 3DS at some point, but with so many games currently in the works I'm guessing it'd be a few years yet, they could have released a version on DS even, N64 style and I'm sure it would have sold well.
I'd like to have Smash Bros on a handheld but it isn't worth re-releasing multi-player titles on single-player consoles and also the amount of content lost when converted. It would be cool but i doubt it. But it would be cool. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_C3rY_19tCqY/TBpTxULPCwI/AAAAAAAAAC0...
Beethoven was right when he said it don't come easy. Currently Learning: Electric Guitar Bad Wolf
It would be a nice idea after was pretty much meh (for me). I'm not saying that it was bad but it certainly wasn't as good as Melee.
And the online mode is PAIN.

If the 3DS is more online capable than the Wii, which seems a bit of a stretch, you still have to remember who'd be developing it.
Who pushes online play more, EA or Nintendo? EA by a very very very long shot.
Nintendo thought New Super Mario Bros online would be too complicated, you think they'd be willing to put their online fighter that barely managed to work on the Wii, and attempt to replicate a better experience on a handheld?
Yea I gotta agree, this seems like this will end up being on of those topics that get pushed to the back of the forum, only to be resurrected about a year after the 3DS board has matured from someone saying "See I told you this would happen".
With that being said, I too expect to see it on here. Im not sure in what incarnation- a brand new one to a remake to a vc game, possibilities are limitless really
I kinda figured that there would be a one copy play too, like...the people who don't own the game can play the starting roster. I'm guessing the stages and all that would be limited though.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
All I can say is that if Dead or Alive and Super Street Fighter IV can come to 3DS, then Super Smash Bros. is definitely in line. Just wait until Kid Icarus: Uprising is complete.

How stupid. That's as saying "There will be no games without motion controls on Wii because the Wii has motion controls." or "There will be no 2D games on Wii because it can render 3D objects.". I personally don't really care if there will be a SSB for 3DS.
