Well, now that it's got gcn/wii like graphics and an analog stick, wouldn't Smash Bros. fit perfectly on it? THAT WOULD BE EPIC!!! like yarn and mice. UPDATE: This is just a discussion of the POSSIBILITY of a Smash Bros. game coming to the 3DS (NOT DS!!!). It ain't real. (some people been think'n that XD)
SSB requires multiplayer, which I can't see on the 3DS. The content would have to be like SSB64, and the franchise is known for its left to right stages. So, no.

What, no possibility for a online SSB 3DS multiplayer game?

1st, Mario Kart DS is a multiplayer game, and it can be done just by using more than 1 ds, and it isn't "required." Plus, the content can be on par with Melee, since the 3DS is like the gcn. And, um, who said they cant have left to right stages? that statement is irrelevant. XD

it doesnt "require" multiplayer, its just more fun with it. plus 4 player local connection thingy? analog=YES

unless they can bring every thing they got to 3DS, like what the Wii has, other then that, I don't want any down Graded Smash Bros. game.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
It'll probably happen. This is a system Nintendo has wanted to make for years. I doubt they'll pass up an opportunity like this. Sakurai will likely be free to make it once Kid Icarus: Uprising is finished.
I thought you needed WiFi to use the DS in multiplayer.
Offline multiplayer is most definently available. As a matter of fact, the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Color all had offline multiplayer, but no online multiplayer.
They can have left to right stages, but it'd be pointless since it wouldn't exploit the 3DS' capabilities.
That's why there's a 2D to 3D slider. And beside, it is possible to exploit the 3DS's capabilities with this game, just that it wouldn't be as prevailent as with other games.
That made no sense, I'm pretty sure the 3DS could handle a Smash Bros. game perfectly. And I'm pretty sure they'll put in some nice 3D features for the game, like...imagine the Assist Trophies with that Nintendog and Andross. (spitting those rectangle things towards the camera. )

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Smash Bros is like the main Pokemon franchise of the Wii
Nintendo knows they have to keep certain franchises exclusive to their consoles and to their handhelds so that they give people incentive to buy both and maximize their profits.

Litter with faulty logics.
As in faulty is a new word for right?
Mario Kart estimates where people are, does the same on the Wii
In a fighting game the server has to know exactly where everyone is and what they're doing at every possible moment.
The Wii was hardly capable of this so I'm not sure why people believe the DS would be, as if Nintendo would put forth so much more effort to overcome such an obstacle.
Now that we've ruled out online multiplayer, you're stuck with only local. As fun as they may be for a day, or a half, grabbing three other friends with a 3DS and Smash Bros. will start to get tedious.
And Smash is not a single player game... So add all this with the whole exclusive thing and there's absolutely no chance.
