It could be a flat 2D game that zooms out into isometric stereoscopic 3D
Would you guys play it? Or is it just me that thinks it would be really cool?
Ideally it would be re-ballanced to make the RPG meta-game as strong as, and integrated more deeply into the overall gameplay.
Would you guys want that or is it just me?
Also, I'd like to see it star Luigi, and with the level of quality of animation as 3DS's Luigi's Haunted Mansion Dark Moon (Personally I feel Luigi's much funnier and much easier to actually relate to because of his nervousness; he's so cool).
I think maybe this far along you'd have to be able to rotate the rooms 360 to see all four faces of the room (I have a feeling I might just be describing link between worlds & treasure tracker, both of which I'm yet to play)
Edit: OMG OMG OMG...make it like Klonoa, where the "2.5D" levels wrap around and spiral into themselves, that way you could keep the play area cubical!
The only question is, would it be better as a remake of the original Super Paper Mario or a sequel game in the Paper Mario series with a similar gameplay style? Your post implies the second (with the 2.5D levels wrapping and spiralling into themselves), but that sort of thing has been done in a remake too, if you remember that Mickey Mania remake the PS1 got (which added more 3D levels/gameplay).
@SuperPaperLuigi No, just a traditional platformer. But I was illustrating how a remake could add new levels with new mechanics only possible on a different system. So a Super Paper Mario remake could introduce Klonoa like levels if it wanted to.
