So, for the new 3DS owners out there (or existing ones) I'm sure you've purchased Super Mario Land 3D, and if so what did you think about it? I've read every review on the web and have spoken to countless 3DS owners and they all agree that Mario 3D Land is the definitive game on the 3DS, or at least will be until Zelda comes out. It certainly had sold gangbusters and dominated sales charts for a while, that's for sure.

What are your thoughts on this game and what does it mean to you?

I do not like that I must collect star coins to advance... I like to speed run.

Im currently waiting on mine to arrive (recently got a 3DS so i snaged a copy but playing pokemon and ocarina in the mean time) . Perhaps someone could answer this question for me, whats the end game in this one? IS there just a Star world or is it like Galaxy where it had additional stars on each level and a star world.

Every review I've read on this game has been pure gold, I believe its considered to be one of the most beloved Mario titles since Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64. Though a lot of people did love New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Galaxy on the Wii, but 3D Land seems to be all the rage.

the game is great, but i dont think it is the definite 3DS game.

@warruz
after completing the first 8 worlds you get another 8 worlds. the levels are different i think but you wont see any new textures or artstyles. and at some time in the game you can switch between mario and luigi

Well, it was definitely the game that made me want a 3DS.
I remember, waaaaaay back in the holiday season of 2011, playing Super Mario 3D Land on the demo 3DS in Target. I instantly knew the controls (they're almost the same as Super Mario 64 DS), and playing a few levels and experiencing the 3D... it was the coolest Mario game I had ever played.

My first 3DS game was Super Mario 3D Landand my second was Ocarina of Time 3D. I bought both on the same day. SML 3D is a great game and its very addicting. I poured alotta hours in it because its so pretty and easy to control. Its sequel is coming to Wii U (Super Mario 3D World) and I don't blame Nintendo for seeing how well received Super Mario 3D Land was for 3DS then making a even better game for Wii U. I hope the same thing that SML 3D did for 3DS will also equal what Super Mario 3D World does for Wii U. As in... Everyone loves it and it makes alotta money.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

It is a good game, definitely.

It plays really well, looks great, good music and all.

But imo it is a bit simple, little to no secrets, starcoins are mostly in plain sight, no sense of exploration.

It was one of my favourites in the (rather barren) launch window. It was easy, but some of the level designs had me laughing out loud - especially when they made me work for a 1up only to find that it was a cardboard cutout xD

I haven't revisited it though. It's not too hard to get all the star coins and then there's not much point left in playing I wish they tossed in the minigames from the DS Mario games.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

It's a really fun game, and I'd say it probably belongs in every 3DS owner's collection, but it personally isn't even in my top 5 games for the system.

Again, it is a fun game & all, but It simply didn't leave the same impression on me that Super Mario World or Super Mario Galaxy did, and I don't find myself constantly going back to it like I did with New Super Mario Bros. on DS. There just seems to be "something" missing, and I can't exactly say what it is.

After playing The Legend of Zelda on my 3DS VC, I realized that the 2nd quest and the special worlds in this game have the same concept.

@OfficliaRVGA

It is the best 3DS game I've played and its my no one so far. My only few issues is that most of the levels are short and that the big boos mansion was suppose to be non linear but instead its straight forward. And that the Tannoki Power suit is much more powerful than the other powerups. Other than that its a great game.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

Watched my friend play this game for the first time over a couple of beers and let me say this: He absolutely loved it!

I was so glad because he hasn't liked anything Nintendo related since the N64 and even then he was a hardcore Playstation supporter during that time, but man o' man he devoured into this game like nobody's business. For the longest time he was of the mindset that Nintendo was just a kids company and real video games were played on Xbox and Playstation consoles, but after he lost himself in Super Mario 3D Land and a few bottles of his favorite brew he agreed that it was time to kick the ol' habit and dive right into a 3DS and Super Mario 3d Land.

Good times!
