Aside from all of this suite talk, can somebody confirm if there is in fact a run button? Or did they go Analog sensitive like in previous 3D titles?

From what I hear, there is.

I'm predicting that the Frog Suit will return for some reason. I'm looking forward to the awesome rediculousness of Boomerang Mario.

I'm optimistic for the Frog Suit, actually. My biggest wish, right now, is the Kuribo's shoe. I will love Nintendo forever (I already do) if they put it in the game. I read somewhere that there are 4 suits that are going to be in the game (the Fire Flower andPropeller Block don't count).
1- Tanooki
2- Boomerang
3- Frog?
4- Shoe?
I also wonder what Statue Luigi indicates. Could it be that there are different variations of the Tanooki Suit? We've already seen 2 (the regular brown one and the shiny white one that makes you invincible). Thoughts?

maybe luigi is cursed or something by that magic koopa (i forgot its name) where he keeps turning into a statue and back and mario has to collect all the coin medals through the game to un curse him and once hes uncursed u can play as him

Well I did see an article saying that Mario wasn't the only character. I don't know if they meant "Playable" or in the game in general. But the way it was worded suggested that it meant playable.
I hope Luigi is playable, once unlocked, I will call the game officially "Super Mario Bros. 3D Land"

Not sure where all the love for the Frog Suit is coming from. The Penguin Suit is essentially an upgrade from that. It gives you the awesome swimming, ice balls, and the ability to slide ( extremely well on water and ice ), AND you can run, not hop. The only thing I can think of is Nostalgia and the fact that Frogs are clearly much cuter than Penguins.

I don't always give myself signatures, but when I do, you just read it.

I like the Frog Suit, don't get me wrong, but all it did was get me killed. Much like the Frog did in DKC, lol guess videogame frogs hate me. Now about Hammer Mario, well I like it, but to me, its become obsolete since Mario has his own Hammer on him (Paper Mario series, Mario & Luigi Series, Mario RPG) so I think this new Boomerang Mario is cooler, and more fresh and new. A welcomed editing.

But for the record, this game is lacking Power-Ups. I don't count the Propeller Block as an power up, its more of an helpful "Accessory" than Power-Up. I'd Love to see NSMBWii Ice Mario, and Rock Mario from Galaxy 2.

The Penguin Suit is better than the Frog Suit, but for nostalgia's sake I want 'em both :3

It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

I liked the Bee suit, but I guess it's a bit redundant with the Tanooki suit back. I'd like to use the Penguin suit in a 3D setting.

My favourite power ups are the ones that change the way you play, but can actually be more of a hindrance than a help, and mainly allow you to show off. Power ups like the Hammer suit, Frog suit (if you use it on land) Cape (on levels where flying is not encouraged) and the Blue shell. That's one way a 'linear' 2D or mixed Mario game can give the player more freedom.

You're saying powerups that restrict and hinder the player give the player more freedom? I don't get it.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I see your "I don't get it" and play an "I really don't get it" in response.

"Pay me 20 Rupees and I'll talk."
CHINK
"Never forget the comfort of freshly-washed shorts."

It's about a less than simplistic look at it. These power ups give you the freedom to play differently, should you have the ability and the imagination to do so. In a straightforward way, just putting Mario in a field with power ups would be the most free, but it would soon be boring. Nintendo gives you the tools, it's up to you what to do with them. You don't have to finish the level in a linear fashion.

In SMB3 you can defeat Bowser with the Hammer suit. The suit is a hindrance, but you can do it that way if you want. Freedom. In SMW you can use the cape and skillfully stay in the air the whole level, even if the level isn't best suited to it. You don't have to go for the most straightforward route. Freedom.

The Propeller Block acts exactly as the Propeller Suit from NSMBWii. I don't see why it wouldn't be considered a Power-Up. Seriously, the only difference between them is the appearance.

Actually, the Propellar Block actually seems kind of nice considering Mario fits inside it, and is still able to retain his current power up (like a fire flower) and still utilize the flight aspect.

To those who thinks the Boomerang Suit is new, it's not. It was an e-reader feature in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3.

No offense, but who the hell had an e-reader?
