Topic: Super King Bowser

After playing Super Mario Bros 2 (and the awesome dlc), and looking at the character selection screen in Super Smash Bros Brawl, I realized something. Out of every Mario character there, only Bowser has not had his own game starring him. So how about instead of Mario rescuing Princess Peach after Bowser kidnaps her, we just focus on Bowser's attempt to kidnap her in the first place? Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Land 2 have both shown us that it's just as dangerous within the Mushroom Kingdom as it is abroad. They even have some interesting levels worth revisiting in Mario Land 2! Like Pumpkin Zone, which has a Halloween theme, or Mario Zone, where Bowser would have to traverse a giant mechanical version of Mario. I'm not really sure how this would work gameplay-wise, but as a novelty like Super Princess Peach I think this would be awesome!

What do you think? Should Bowser star in his own Mario game, or just keep being the villain?

Bowser's Inside Story pretty much exists to prove that Bowser is better than Fawful and everyone else for that matter.

You double-posted. And that's really not what I had in mind... Bowser's still not the star in this game. Most of it is Mario and Luigi traversing his body. Although you have convinced me to go out and actually play this game. Honestly I thought the first posts would somehow be Wreck it Ralph related.

I really consider Bowser the star.

Super Mario RPG was the first. He co-starred.

Acutally he is, he does a lot more than Mario or Luigi ever do, there is plenty of time you spend controling and fighting as Bowser, he's certainly a star, if not the star.

I wish I could share your love of M and L 3, but my grandma thought it would be an awesome idea to buy a bootleg copy off of ebay because it was $2... And now it's hard to find new so I can't find the game.

Okay, going to get this game now...

I wish for a game where any character gets a decent amount of backstory.

Seriously, I'm not usually a guy who chooses games based on plot, but Super Mario Galaxy has had me yearning for some more good backstories in the Mario world.

@TDH I think you may need to have a serious talk with your grandparents. It's obvious that they mean well, but you should definitely educate them on the industry a bit more.

The Mario universe doesn't have a backstory, but the RPG games do have nice stories in general.

What all Mario RPG games are there? Is it just the two or are there a lot of these?

If you want a platformer with Bowser in Super Paper Mario(which is a platformer instead of a RPG) you can play as him for a good bit of the game. Also in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (a RPG) there are 3 platformer levels where you play as him.

I feel like my world has just expanded...

Super Paper Mario is great. I also have wanted a game focused on Bowser. If you look up some videos you'll see that it can take multiple stomps to kill enemies the game has a story, overworld, and the unique "flip" mechanic. I count it as the best Mario platformer ever and really want a game in the same spirit as it.
