Look, Nintendo did say something about it. It was in an interview I read with someone who was working on it. And what makes you think that Infrared would replace wireless? It's there for things like a future Pokewalker (They had to put an IR sensor in the Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Game Cards for the Pokewalker, and in the interview the guy explained they put the IR sensor there so they didn't have to do that again). Just because they had an IR Sensor on the Gameboy Color did not mean it replaced a Link Cable for Multiplayer, did it? I wish I could link to the interview, but I can't seem to find it.

Then why isn't that listed anywhere in the official 3DS features list?

What is listed however is a charging cradle terminal input. And it's listed separately from the normal AC input. Also on the charging station pictures it looks like the AC input isn't connected to the terminal which could mean that the thing next to the stylus is an input for the charging station (and maybe even addons like the guitar hero grip?).

But really, I just want a stylus spot that doesn't wear out and drop your stylus easily. My DSi is on the verge of beginning to do that.

It is an ir sensor. I just was looking it up. I also think that the stylus has a new locking system because, it just destroys the stylus. Maybe like a little claw grips it tight on the inside with a movement of a switch.

No mine does that, too George and I never gnaw on pens.
Might be a DSi Stylus problem because I never heard DS and DS Lite owners complain.

I don't gnaw on it. That's gross. However, the system seems to "gnaw" on it every time you slide it out. The edges sorta "erode" the holder, and makes it bigger. It then keeps doing that until it's capable of sliding out on its own.

Actually, the thing that erodes is the bump on the stylus that keeps it in. If you have a DSi you have had for a while and haven't used the extra stylus, take that out and put it in the sheath. You'll be surprised how tightly the stylus fits.

Ah, well, my other DSi stylus is lost forever, seeing as I let a friend borrow my system, and she never returned the stylus....

the new spot for the stylus is good for both righty and lefty now. before the spot was just for the righty's, but now its fair for both righty and lefty's.

So do I. A co-worker gave me a DS stylus with Yoshi on it as a gag gift, but I liked it so much that I use it exclusively now.

I've lost my DSi so many times, so that would be really helpful.
