Topic: Streetpass via Invitation?

Hey everyone! So I went to the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin yesterday and I fiiiiinally got some StreetPasses (7 in total)! However, one of them stands out from the rest. His name is Kevin and went I click on his information, it says he was received via Invitation, rather than from StreetPass. He was also the only one who I received data for the music player from, so there may be a correlation between that.

So yeah, does anyone know what "via Invitation" means??

I have no idea. I need to do Street Pass more often however.

Yes, I to, am curious about the music aspect. Perhaps, Kevin imported his 3DS from Japan and it might have more features?

I was talking about Nintendo 3DS Sound. It has StreetPass features, although I'm still not really sure what they are. I have 3 songs in my StreetPass playlist and when I click on the StreetPass button it takes me to Compatibility and Hit Parade. When I go to Compatibility and then click on Top 10, it says I haven't met anyone compatible via StreetPass yet. However, it I scroll do to Recent Activity, it shows this:

If I go back and go to Hit Parade, there are two options, again: Top Songs and Top Artists. If I go to Top Songs, it just states "5 new tracks found! Keep using StreetPass, and they might appear in your Hit Parade!" When I go to Top Artists, it displays this:

So yeah, I've done a few quick Google searches and really haven't found any information on the 3DS Sound's StreetPass capabilities... I don't know, weird stuff! lol

Nobody knows what this means?
I got 2 Miis via invitation today and I have 4 in total, and my girlfriend got 3 and she doesn't even have streetpass on Nintendo 3DS Sound turned on so it can't be just from that so I can't work out what it is.
Could it be from people who you get streetpass for in some games, but not in the Mii Plaza.
For example, I could have received streetpass for 3DS Sound but those people didn't have streetpass turned on for the Mii Plaza, so after receiving them in 3DS sound I get their Miis automatically in my Plaza, but with no information about what game they were playing and such?
And my girlfriend could have got them from Nintendogs?

That's all I can think of that it could be, but if anybody knows anything about it then feel free to enlighten me.

@Sgt_Ludby I have three streetpass hits on 3DS sound.... but no top artist yet! 11 new tracks, 11 new artists, 3 streetpass hits and nothing on the Hit Parade

........ and none of my 23 Streetpass Miis are by invitation

Seems to back up what I suspected.

you only get stuff in the music hit parade when you get an artis or a song more then twice. not sure about the invitation thing tho.

I got one of those once in a Gamestop (Streetpass by invitation). I always wondered what it meant. I didn't get one in any of the games I have so I don't know if that's the cause or not. Very curious.

I think you get Miis via invitation chosing Yes when asked to recieve Miis this way on the StreetPass Mii Plaza settings and you play wireless or online multiplayer with users that have also answered Yes in that settings.

As I understand it Nintendo 3DS Sound StreetPass (interesting, but not very fun or useful on this app) works like this:

1. Touch StreetPass on the Main Menu of this app
2. Set 1 to 5 music files from the SD on the StreetPass playlist
3. Select Yes when asked to activate StreetPass,
4. Use StreetPass for this app like you noramlly do.

a) Compatibility/Top 10 I think will only show songs and people you StreetPassed with at least one music file or artist in common with you (or the file name at least) Remaining empty until you StreetPass at least one match.
b) Compatibility/Recent Activity shows info on all of the users you StreetPassed for this app, marking the % of music file matches between your and his playlist from the total music files on your playlist.
c) Hit parade counts the times a song and an artist has been recieved from other users StreetPass playlists and ranks them accordingly (regardless of matching or not your own StreetPass playlist) Empty until finding 10 different songs and artists.

Hey:
Im pretty sure they're from playing 3DS games online. For example, my brother was racing online on MK7 and now he has 50+ invitation Miis.
