@dizzyboy when I was in Tokyo I got on the train everyday. As I got close to the station, I already had ten mii's waiting for me. I didn't know that ten was the limit until the last few day that I was there. I met over 500 in a couple of weeks. Imagine if I would have collected the puzzle pieces and met more right away? I probably would have had met a thousand mii's. Nevertheless, I left needing fifteen puzzle pieces to collect them all.

That's why everyone over there have an army of 9,999,999 men.
I've read you were talking about the men needed to defeat the emperors and how some of your troops seems a lot larger than some of the others. Here's the thing: You all will need different numbers.
Let me explain: I was planning to never lose in Warrior's Way. I might be dreaming, I know, but I'll still try. Any way, a realized that if I wanted to have al the game songs I'd have to lose, no matter what. So I let myself die and then deleted my game progress. Started anew.
In my first try I defeated the first emperor with my 200 miis from my plaza, then before going after the second I bought tons of soldiers. I even got lucky several times so I gathered and army of 10,000 men in no time. Defeated the second emperor very easy but the third one had and army of 15,000 or so. So I stoped there until I got more soldiers. After a while I won a some other battles 'til I deleted progress.
In my second try I started with my 200 plaza miis, defeated firts emperor, defeated second emperor, and when I got to the third he had an army of 300 men or so.
That got me thinking: The number of emperors' men are proportional to yours.
The same aplies to castle upgrades. In my first try, I dont remember very well my first upgrade, but the second whas like 2,000 men. In the second try like 400.
The one I have more present is the fourth emperor, First try 32,000 men. Second try 3,200 men. Or something like that.
My advice: advance trying not to make your army grow very big. Ther'es another advantage of this: when you need men you spend a lot less of coins to get the men you need. Since the quantities of hired men are "constants".
Graphically is like this:
1st try
#1 (200 men) - [bought 10K] - #2 (400 men) - #3 (15,000 men) - #4 (32,000 men)
2nd try
#2 (200 men) - [bought 0] - #2 (400 men) - #3 (1,500 men) - #4 (3,200 men)
Those are not the exact numbers, of course, but close enough to give you an idea. Hope this helps.

Yeah, you definitely want to keep your army small on the first playthrough of the game so that the numbers never become unmanageable, so I wouldn't actually recommend hiring soldiers unless you just lost a bunch or there's virtually no chance of winning against a country. I wouldn't worry about losing to countries, because you actually need to take the chance of being in a position to lose to get the critical strike achievement, and a lot of times that will save you anyway. If you lose and you rehire soldiers right after, there's a decent chance you will get lucky and get 10 times as many as you should, plus then all you have to do is beat that country to earn back about as many soldiers as you lost in the first place and I think they might just use the same battle order as before to make it easy on you, so don't be scared of losing.

Man, I will never get that critical strike achievement then. I never got it, and now my army is maxed out.

I wonder if I reset the data, will I lose all my earned achievements, too? I'll have all but that one.

Achievements/Accomplishments don't get deleted. How could they take your tickets back? That would be pretty bad, man XD
So, don't worry if you wanna start over again. If you keep your troops small you won't have any trouble gettig where you are right now. And about the crit one, I earned that one letting myself die. I wanted to die so I could get the game over song before the reset, but I made that critical strike and actually won the battle. So I earned that ticket and also won against an army 1.5 bigger than mine, hehe.
Oh, and there's another Accomplishments for a second crit hit, so I guess you have 2 Accomplishments left and not 1.

I think it's still possible to get the critical strike with a maxed-out army against another maxed-out army. I would use spying to ensure that you have the advantage to win either the 1st or 2nd round, but will be at a disadvantage to lose for the others, and then your disadvantage in the third round should turn into an advantage with the critical strike so that you win and get the achievement.

I'll try that.

You can lose men if you deliberately throw a battle - just set the troops so you have two white flags. For a critical strike, you should have fewer troops than the enemy at the start of the battle (I "think" it's between 5-10% fewer) To get a critical strike, you need to win one round, lose one round and then have just under the number of troops needed to beat the enemy in the last round. The critical strike seems to be a bit of luck that means your army (that would normally lose the last round) somehow gets stronger and you win! It's easier if you use like for like troops, so infantry against infantry etc. because then you don't have to factor in troops lost because of type. Terrain doesn't make any difference either if you use like for like troops. Don't try to get a critical strike with Ninjas or Beserkers unless you're feeling really lucky, though. Also, much easier if you can spy on the enemy twice in one session.

Does anyone knows how to place decorations you've earned by finishing jobs in StreetPass Garden?

Go to the shopping area, to the appropriate shop and everything is available there. Garden Grace asks which garden you'd like to decorate and takes you there. Any open spots are available for placing decorations etc, but you can't put all decorations in all places so only a limited number are available for a particular spot, depending on whether it's against a wall or open. When you've chosen from the list, go the the trolley icon to buy and that's that. To change a pot, you have to select the plant you want the pot for and choose the change pot option in the menu. For the items you win for jobs you need to complete the job again to have more than one of the same item available.

I don't want to buy anything, I want to use the black cafe board I won with the I'm Cheering You On job. The second for the football player. I already have this item but I can't place it.

When you go to the shop they show the price AND the number of each item you have. You still have to go to Garden Grace in order to get access to the garden. If you already have an item, it will place it without charging when you get to it in the list.

That's what I thougth. I went there and chose the cafe board but it says in the total it will charge me. Maybe if I chose the trolley at the end it won't. I'll have to take the risk. It isn't that much money anyways.

I don't think it will charge, but maybe the prize is being able to buy the items at the shop. I never really noticed, to be honest. In any case, I'm afraid we're stuck with going through that route because there doesn't seem to be another way. Even in a virtual world, you can end up paying twice for stuff you thought you'd already got. sigh

Warrior's Way Final Battle Spoilers
So, in Warrior's Way I had about 20,000 troops as I beat the 19th guy, and I understand it's all proportional in army sizes, like you said @Sherman. But my final army size is 175,000. That's a huge jump up for me, and as I've gone 19/19 so far I don't want to lose. So do I have to get that many soilders to stand a chance, or can I fight him with less? I understand that the final battle works differently but I don't know how it does. :3

You should try to have an army of 44K to be at least 1/4 the size of the emperor to theoretically have a 17/81 chance of winning and be able to get the achievements for beating an army 2x and 1.5x your size. You can still win with an army of 22K, but your odds should be only 7/81, so you'll probably just get frustrated. If you do lose the odds are pretty good you will get a lucky rehire with 10x as many soldiers as normal though if you have the coins to hire soldiers a few times right after losing. I always just played rock every time against the emperor, and in 3 of the 5 times I faced him it would have been sufficient to beat him with an army 1/8th his size because I got 3 wins and 2 ties, but I may have just been really lucky.

@iphys Well, I have streetpassed a few times since then, and grew to a size of 53,000. I'll definitely try that then, in a few days, when I have enough play coins to rehire lots of troops if I lose. Thanks! :3

EDIT: I just tried, as I got a streetpass, but I failed. I did rock all 5 times, and lost, lost, tied, won, won. D:
Then I hired 10 playcoins worth of soilders, 1800 (only got 1863 though) and tried again. Ironically, if I had used rock every time again I'd have won, but of course I didn't.
But I'm losing 5000 per battle, no major loss there. :3

Well, I was doin' great. Clay. I had like 65K men by the 14th-15th country. Then spent 15 coind on men and got lucky, won like 70K men, then spent another 15 to keep going after a castle upgrade and got lucky again and got like 100K men. By the time I got to the emperor I had like 200K and he has a little less than a million men. So, now I'm gonna have a hard time getting al the other men I need. It's easy for you, Clay, 'cause you can hire and still grow big in porcentage. I can't do that now =/

Edit: They charged me the Cofe Board. I don´t know how to place stuff you get by finishing jobs =S
