This shouldn't even be a question. Dream Team is miles better than Sticker Star, in every way possible.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

I haven't played Dream Team but I can't say it's better than Sticker Star without playing it. I'm one of the like, 5 people in the world that liked Sticker Star it seems ;_;

I really didn't like Sticker Star. It just bored me. I've been debating getting Dream Team but money is tight with a baby on the way and I'm worried I'll be as disappointed with it as I was with Sticker Star. Do you all really find Dream Team to be better? I think I will just go and get it if you guys think so. I need a good game to play!

@LindsayPez Honestly, neither of them are my cup of tea, but I'd say I'd find more rewarding long term fun in Dream Team. Sticker Star getting rid of the leveling and everything else RPG just made battle feel pointless. I get it; a lot of games have battles with not leveling, but those games keep you engaged with the world around you. Battling shouldn't have been such a focus in Sticker Star, yet it's 70+% of the game.

In Dream Team, on the other hand, the gameplay is split between overworld and battle. I only played the demo, but it works like the other Mario & Luigi games: interact with the world and fight battles. My two complaints are: 1) The battles are reaaaaaaaaaaallly slow. I think Pokemon has spoiled me there, but that doesn't excuse anything. 2) The platforming is not the best. I wish they made that aspect of the world smoother.

Overall, I think you'll get so much more enjoyment out of Dream Team. If you haven't played any of the other Mario & Luigi though, and you have doubts about this one, hold off until you have the money-space to afford it.

While I really enjoyed Sticker Star (and think it gets too much hate), and don't understand people questioning it's RPG status (it's not the only RPG that forgoes leveling & a deep story), as I haven't played Dream Team, I won't make a verdict on the matter.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Thank you so much for your thoughts! Super helpful. I totally agree about Sticker Star...I couldn't play more than the beginning because everything felt tedious and pointless. I don't want to battle if there's no reason for it! I hate how they took the RPG elements out. :/

Sticker star probably wins in the exploration department, but Dream team has much better humor AND is a true RPG that hasn't been watered down that much! It's also much longer, and most enemies are new! I think Dream team wins, but Sticker star is also a fine game!

If users don't like Sticker star, would they praise it?

As for me, Dream Team is better

Yeah, I know. I'm not asking for people to praise it, nor am I saying is Dream Team bad, it's really good. I just feel like Sticker Star gets more hate than it deserves.

I didn't play dream team but you're right Sticker star gets even more hate than shovelware..... but I liked it(specially the music!)
