Topic: Sticker Star for $10?

Sticker Star is not worth your time. Don't buy it for any amount of money. It just isn't worth playing at all.

Layton seems like a good deal if you like those games, though.

I don't think it's a bad deal, and it's a fascinating look at a high quality developers attempts to make a terrible idea work, but you can get so many better games for 10 bucks nowadays.

I think you guys are overreacting with Paper Mario: Sticker Star. I just recently purchased it and I'm having a blast! If you have an open mind and are willing to play it, then go for it! This is also coming from someone who played the original.
I think the presentation is absolutely charming as well as the script. The sticker collecting is actually really fun, and not having the RPG sense sometimes kind of sucks but takes away all the annoying things about it as well. The puzzles and level design is honestly really fun. I love exploring every inch of a level until I find everything. Just don't come in thinking PM:SS as an RPG, but as an Action Adventure and I think you'll find a little gem!

I got it for $7 back in November at Best Buy so I got the better deal methinks, but if you're looking for a 3DS game that may hold you over while I say go for it, there's a lot worse for you could do then Sticker Star

Sticker Star isn't even worth playing if it was free...unless you like torturing yourself.

Just go get it for that price if you're THAT interested and if you're prepared on how it's gonna handle beforehand. I can think a heck of a worse deals than sticker star for 10 bucks.

Sticker Star is a very flawed game, but the hate it gets is completely overblown by people who grew up with the first two Paper Mario games and people who have not played anywhere near enough games to understand what a truly awful game (Big Rigs, for example) is like. In a lot of ways the execution of the games mechanics come off as very sloppy and underdeveloped, but the game has enough going for it (functional gameplay, catchy soundtrack, decent aesthetics, etc) to be worth at least $10.

I hadn't played any of the previous Paper Mario games and I can advise people to not bother playing it. It's not that its the worst game ever, its the fact that it has no redeeming qualities in the actual game mechanics. Soundtrack and aesthetics mean nothing if the game itself is terrible - just look at Sonic 06.

Ugh....here we go again with Sticker Star, just get it....just don't get it digitally.

Sticker Star is charming-looking, does a fantastic job of showing off the system's 3D capabilities, and is just an absolute bore to play! I spent 3 hours on it one evening and gifted it to my nephew as a present not long after.

Sounds like this thread has served its purpose. It doesn't sound like miiandmario had any doubts.

I realize the sticker star is your traditional paper Mario game and yeah I've heard people don't like it but 10 bucks is a good price (by the way I couldn't get it it was sold out)

All Sticker Star bashing aside, thanks for letting me know Professor Layton was $10. I grabbed that today.

I got Sticker Star for $20 six months ago. I haven't really put any time into it yet. I did play it a little while and could kind of see its combat mechanics getting old fast. But it did look pretty great!

Make sure you keep your receipt for when you come to your senses. Oh and I think their will be a b2g1 coupon on it too.

Sounds like Sticker Star is the Other M of the Paper Mario series!
