Ive been thinking of picking up starfox for the 3ds. However when I began looking around the price has been really high. used on ebay is fetching 45-50 dollars and new is around 65-70 dollars. I also checked amazon which also had a high listing for 70 usd. Two of the auctions on ebay had starfox 64 3d as a nintendo selects game from overseas. So is that why this game is so rare in the USA because they are ramping up to switch it over to a nintendo selects title. I dont want to pay 70 for it now if a couple weeks it will be 20 on Nintendo selects.
I'd just wait for it to become a Nintendo Select or else download it. First game I got for my 3DS in 2011 and it's just as fantastic now as it was when I first played it.
Thanks David_NL for the welcome. If its just ok then maybe I will wait or pick up Kid Icarus Uprising instead. I really dont want to pay more then 20 for Starfox if its going to be a selects title. It looks like it already might be in Europe or Australia.
It got expensive because they stopped producing the original copy a while ago, everyone bought it up and either never resold and/or it didn't sell enough to begin with to make it abundant in used stores.
It is pretty rare. I just picked up a used copy with box and manual for $41 USD. And a copy of Starfox Command in box for $35. The not so popular and niche (starfox 64 and command) games all have a price curve that drops and then goes back up years after they are discontinued. It's not as bad if the games were popular, but it still happens. This is true for the DS Zelda and DS Mario & Luigi too.
I recently got a 2ds after not playing my DS for 10 years. So I've been trying to pick up the DS games that I might want to play before they really become expensive in a few years.
Gamestop has used copies for about $40, though it was much cheaper not long ago shooting at around $20-30, I guess Zero help shoot up the price.
You're better off waiting for a Nintendo Selects announcement, or even just get the original 64 on the Wii since SF643D is barely different from the original game
