I was a Nintendo fan back when I sat down and play Super Mario All Stars for the SNES. I experience all Nintendo consoles except NES. Handhelds on the other hand (curse you pun), I spend so little time on. I purchase and play more Nintendo games for the console than handhelds.
Ever since the announcement of the 3DS, I want to invest more time and money on the newest handheld. I want to change my video game habit. I don't care if a new Nintendo console is just around the corner, I miss out on my handheld experience and the 3DS will help me fulfill with the upcoming eShop. I can't wait to experience Super Mario Land for the first time.
What do you think?

I hear ya. I had not been playing my PS3/Wii much, ended up getting rid of them actually and buying a 360 Slim, because all my friends use it (as well as my girlfriend), so it just seemed like a better gaming experience. The 3DS has been a bigger part of my gaming life, than any other handheld really. And that's with launch titles that aren't the best. Just wait till we get MarioKart, Mario 3DS, Zelda: OoT...I won't be able to part with the thing! I have been on the 360 ALOT the past few days since it's new, but in another week I am sure I will simmer down a bit. I am really excited for the eShop as well...Super Mario Land is awesome, I can't wait to play through it again, so I am glad that you will be able to experience it. I see many VC eShop purchases in my future!

I started on Handhelds ( Gameboy advance SP) and only to consoles have held my interest were my Gamecube and PlayStation 2, the gamecube is broken and gone and the PlayStation 2 is dead. The Wii held up my interest with Brawl and the Xbox 360 I barely use. I prefer handhelds to consoles, the 3DS has ate up most of game time in April, though I will eventually get the Cafe. But I will a ways remain loyal to my handhelds.

I started gaming on a the Game Boy Color, but then got an N64 and stuck to consoles. I fiddled about with the GBA and DS, but never bought one. Buuuut 3DS has finally really tempted me, and I love it.

Handhelds >>>> Consoles
For me, of course.

For most, I think preference is mostly dependent on free time. I don't have much free time, so I enjoy playing my 3DS the most, b/c it's more convenient in short periods. But, for those with a lot of time, consoles are probably preferred.

Once I get some of the better upcoming games for my 3DS, my PS3 and Wii will be neglected like the middle child in a three child family. But once Infamous 2 comes out for the PS3... well...
Wii U MAD?
Currently playing: Tales of Graces, Kid Icarus, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, Resident Evil Revelations, and Kingdom Hearts BBS.
Huge fan of Tales games

isn't that the sequel to that game that was Not Prototype (which itself was just Not Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (aka Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction: The Unlikable, Cliched and Stupid Edition)) and nothing else worth mentioning?
Let's Play Pokemon Mystery Dungeon!

I'm not the only one then. My 3DS has stolen my life completely, I played on it for weeks and could barely play my Wii. Now that I've got Conduit 2, I'm spending quite a fair bit of time on that, but after like 4 days, I am slowly drifitng back to my 3DS. I don't know why but its just so much more fun, even with the limited amount of content it has to offer so far.

I haven't played a handheld system since the original Game Boy. They just don't have the appeal of consoles to me. One day I may get a 3DS though.

There will be an astronomical increase when Pokémen, Mario Kart and the eShop arrives... And a Custom Robo, F-Zero and Kirby title.
Damn, I can't wait.

I like handheld games, mainly because they're cheaper and I can go wherever with them. On a side note, there needs to be a GTA on 3DS; not like that classic top down version the DS had, but something like Liberty City Stories. That would be epic, if the 3DS can do it.

Handhelds completely lack the impact and grand scale feeling that a console title can give you, I just can't exactly get that from staring at a tiny hand held screen. Now I love my DS, and I loved the original GB when it was released....But to compare my memories with my Nes and GB....The NES destroys it completely, there's no comparison. Because of that amazing experience that the NES gave me I hardly touched my GB at the time.
And as far as being immersed into the experience.....ya, that doesn't exactly work too well on a tiny screen now does it?Anyways, I always find it annoying shifting from the Wii to the DS, ah well. I need to get a taste of both worlds.

I think it's those commercials and especially trailers where they have to show this is on a handheld.that sometimes kills handheld games for me.

It's ironic that I was raised on consoles except for the Sega Nomad, but now I play games on handhelds a lot more than on consoles. To me, you can find just as many high-quality games on a handheld (perhaps more) than on a console. My favorite handhelds are the 3DS, PSP, DS, and the GBA.
