A game that will last you if you only have limited funds is Samurai Warriors Chronicles. Plenty of unlockable content, new playable characters and weapon sets for the main character you create and up until recently they were giving away additional content via spotpass, extra weapons and brand new missions. However you may have missed out on the DLC unless they plan to rerelease it like they did with DoA (another good game).

Yeah, it's one of the few games actually worth the retail price. I got it at launch and I'm still playing it.

question about the samurai chronicles and DOA download content. is it only just costumes or stages too. Also why is it only a limited time thing. Couldn't they host it on the eshop like wii dlc. or is that coming next month.

@shingi_70: I don't have DOA, so I don't know about that. The DLC for Samurai Warriors is downloaded automatically through SpotPass. It's mostly extra stages, I think a few of them were special weapons. I don't know whether or not it's still available.

Had a look at that samurai game and ite not for me. Not a big fan of free flow hack and slash.

Prefer my games with a little less button combos.

I doubt you'd have much luck finding a cheap, pre-owned 3DS with the ambassador games.
I guess it is possible, considering any 3DS that has been online before the 14th of August is eligable, so there could be a few around but it'd probably just be luck of the draw if you get one.
You'd probably be better off with just focusing on finding the best deal that you can and if it does happen to have the ambassador games then lucky you.
Or just get a new one if you can find a really good deal somewhere - personally I don't like the idea of buying preowned systems.

As for games, if you're not into Zelda then there isn't too much amazing yet, but Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are just around the corner and I can pretty much guarantee that both those games will be great if you like either of those things, and Mario Kart has pretty good replay value if you have a decent enough wireless Internet connection.
I haven't really played any other retail game yet that really has enough value to get unless you can find them cheap or have a bit of money to splurge, which you don't by the sounds of it.
And not sure if you already have a DS of some sort or not, but if you don't then there's tons of quality titles that you could probably buy pretty cheap and still play on the 3DS.

I definitely recommend the system though, and if you manage to get one leave your fiend code in the 3DS friend code forum and I'll happily add you as a friend.

Best of luck!

Marion?
Is that what they call Mario in Nepal or is that just how you type it for whatever reason?

Good to hear it though, great system with some great games.

"Hack & Slash" doesn't describe the game. It should be called an "Action/Strategy/RPG". The trailers and screenshots don't show what it's really like.

Based on what you've said so far, it sounds like a 3DS wouldn't be worth it for you right now.

I am happy with just having Zelda until one of the mario games. I have about 20 ds games with various stages of completion that will tide me over to.

I just need to take a step back and sort out my finances. I really should not be getting a 3DS now. The money would be better spend on the credit card, but I am one for always getting techy stuff and giving into my desires eventually.

Currently having an internal debate with myself on what do do console wise. I get can get a second hand black 3DS at £118 (unsure about boxed accessory's). But I can get a red console new for £125, black at £130. I really want black as in my flat I have a whole black set up for my av equipment.
Might try to wait a week and hope for a new deal. I missed some good prices and vouchers only 2 weeks ago .

I'd probably do the same if I was in your situation.
I shouldn't buy it, but it's irresistible.

Hope you find yourself a good deal.
If you end up stuck with those prices then I'd say the brand new one is better just to be safe that you don't get stuff with anything too dodgy, but if £12 is too much extra for you then just take the risk with the second hand one, and if you get lucky then you could get those ambassador games you wanted.

I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but Ghost Recon is a great value. I picked it up brand new at $20 and definately feel like I got my money's worth.

I probably would have got that cheap with my system at launch, but I was short on money at the time.
Might pick it up one day if I come across it cheap enough here.

Gave Ghost Recon a look on youtube, definitely a different breed than the previous games. but I do like the look of it, will keep an eye out when its cheap.

Yes a second hand console can be risky but IMO so long as the store gives warranty or a ebayer supplies the sales receipt I am happy.

I also meant to ask, does any UK user know of a place where things like cheapest pre-order and pre-order gifts are listed?.

As shown here, despite my efforts I am terrible at shopping and always miss out on the goodies. Really do hope the get that super awsome looking Revelations case. If not I just hope our American brothers and sisters be fair on ebay.

I got samurai warriors chronicles late but I still got the stages I missed and I think spotpass battles, but I missed out on the messages. It's a great game and the combat plays out kind of like zelda, not exactly but close and it really is one of the better titles out and will give you many hours of play time, I've already put in over 69, almost 70 and like other have mentioned it has lots of content and even gives you streetpass functions to up it's value.

You asked what you can get for free, well you can download, pokedex 3d the spotpass makes this one worth it even if you don't like pokemon, nintendo video it's just free little 3d videos sent to your system and it has a lot of video types and lengths so that something should come up you like, netflix if you have it it's there, there are 6 upcoming game trailers to download that send spotpass data about the game they are for, then there is zelda: 4-swords anniversary edition which is great with friends but still plays well on it's own.

Then on the system there is face raiders, ar games, streetpass mii plaza, mii maker, nintendo 3ds camera, nintendo 3ds sound , nintendo eshop, activity log, internet browser, friends list, game notes, system settings and a notification area, though I'm sure you already knew of these, I'd just thought I would add the to show all the free content

I'm an ambassador so in some ways I hope you don't find a used one now at a fragment of the price many others and me payed at launch but if you do find one, then lucky you and it's not wiped clean you might find, the ten nes games, the ambassador certificate, ten free gba games coming, then you may find 3d classics excitebike free and 11 3d videos, one for green lantern and ten e3 videos.

Good luck and I hope the content is what your looking for.

I understand the ambassador program was a perk for the early adopters and I hope I don't anger to many people with me asking about it.
As I have posted multiple time, I purely wanted to know about it just incase. I see it as if I get a second hand console and its there why not, but even without it I am happy. If someone is selling a console with it on I see it as why not me ?.

Although the way its going I may unfortunately end up with a red new console as they are the cheapest. Why is a new release cheaper than the older entry's.

@CloudWarrior - If you get one I'm happy for you, I hope it didn't seem like I was angry. Just saying I wish it was more unique to people who got the system early, but it doesn't matter, I never expected free games and was happy to get them and if you get one then your in luck and I won't be bothered, it's just kinda of annoying to hear everyone who waited getting those games but I did get my system sooner and had lots of fun with it, so there is not loss, also I hope what I posted helps you with knowing what free games can be on a system or that you might find.

Well I managed to get a black 3DS on ebay at a good price. Managed to play OoT up till getting into the Deku tree and the power died. The seller sent a Ds lite plug .

Hope to get it sent out soon but its killing me that I cant play.

Well I got the plug and ...WOW. How awesome is this thing. First time trying out new games/apps I was giggling like a little girl (I'm a 26yr old male). Zelda has renewed my love for portable gaming. Being able to play such a all round great gaming in bed is indescribable. The AR games are such a good idea, I want more, MORE.

I have looked around the net but I always get the ambassador games or the pokedex. Are these any free things other than videos on the estore worth getting ?.
