Topic: Sonic Rush 5

Its rumored that SEGA will announce a new Sonic Game on Hedgehogs Day, and that it will be 3D on all of the consoles, Vita and PC, yet 2D on 3DS, hence the title, Sonic Rush 5

You will play through stages, and the path you take is determined on how you explore the zone. Take the faster high route, you go to a different zone than if you just keep on running to the right.

Also, every different zone you clear, you unlock new characters to play as, like Knuckles, Tails, or Shadow.

Sonic Rush 5? Then where are Sonic Rush 3 and 4?

I think it'd be cool to see a modern Sonic game with the Sonic 2/3 & Knuckles approach. Sonic 4 doesn't really count, and now we'll have multiple characters! I do hope that the stages aren't as boost heavy as Rush if the focus is more on multiple pathways though.

Unless Colors and Generations count as 3 and 4, but by that logic this would be Sonsc Advance 9

If this is true, it will be awesome. I think it's cool how the (3)DS versions are often their own game. They compliment the console version quite well.

I'm excited. I hear people comparing the DS/3DS versions of Colors and Generations to Sonic Rush, and those are actually my favorite Sonic games(Colors Wii third). If it also ends up like that, I will enjoy it. I can see this being pretty good.

Well to be fair, Mario Kart 3D suddenly became Mario Kart 7 just because of an item you already forgot about.

Yes, I consider Sonic Colors DS to be 3, and Generations to be 4. Colors follows the Rush gameplay, and as for Generations being 4, I know its a strech, but thats how I view it.

I will buy it for both Wii U and 3DS

So basically another Rush game? I liked the Rush games because there were plenty of alternate paths and secrets between each level. More than you would find in any other Sonic game, anyways. But to be honest, I want Adventure 3.

I never liked the Rush games. I always got pissed off when the console versions got awesome gameplay and the (3)DS got a boring sidescroller. And Sonic Generations confused me because it felt like there was no difference between modern and classic sonic, they just made different sprites and called it a day. Instead of Rush 5 (Technically 3), I'd much Rather go for Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode III.

Is there a source for any of this? It sounds interesting, just that you never say how you figured out it'd be '2D on the 3DS and 3D on other consoles' or such like.

I'd rather they go back to the formula of Sonic Advance 2 (high speeds, multiple pathways, smooth animations) and mix it up with some 3DS Generations.

I wouldn't mind some Sonic Advance 3 elements such as tag partners(not sure if it started from this game but whatever.) BUT WOULD IT KILL SEGA TO PUT A 3d Sonic on 3ds, I enjoy the 2d games to death put I wouldn't mind a portable 3d sonic game.
