I was watching the newest nintendo week and they said for the 20th anniversary of sonic all the ds games were gonna be on eshop. Maybe even this week. I am not sure if it is just videos or demos or maybe full games.
I wonder what they mean?but I am excited!

I just watched. I'm a bit fuzzy as well on exactly what this means. It would be very cool if the actual games were available for download. I wish they had clarified on it a bit more but I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Yea either that or demos because I think that would be a good start for them to do more in the future.

I believe I remember somewhere that Thursdays will be the update day. So from now until then we'll just have to see what is to come. Demos would be amazing.

Gamegear is pretty much a portable Master System anyway so I would love to see all the SEGA GG & MasterSystem games on the eShop... I wouldnt even mind if they didnt bother bringing MegaDrive games to eShop because with those two systems there would already be a large library of Sonic games.

I thought they had confirmed the turbografx-16 as a 3DS VC system? Is that not a home console system??

There was a handheld version of the turbografx-16:-
3 hours battery life for 6 AAs and people complain about the 3DS battery life. Kids these days don't know they are born.

@BJQ1972 , wow I never knew that. Thanks for that. Well im glad its getting Turbografx games anyway handheld or not.

Yeah the TurboGraphix 16 portable was basically the console game. They used the same game cards.
So yeah, aside from Nintendo consoles being only handheld, you will see some console games possibly on the 3DS through Gamegear and TurboGraphix 16.

I'd be more excited about Sonic games on the VC. I'd say it's still quite easy to buy the DS games for an all right price. And i'd rather see demos for 3DS reatil games or some 3DS Ware first.

I think it will just be videos and details about the retail games. Most likely we will get the one of the sonic game gear games sega told us about earlier for this week eshop week.

yeah, i remember that gamegear sonic. too easy compared to the other ones.... and its far behind the ones on sega genesis.
the gamegear itself was...subpar. it felt like playing crappy versions of the big boys on consoles.whats the point of making gamegear available on VC.sega genesis would sell, gamegear. forget it.
when will we see bakubaku animals on the 3ds ?

Game Gear Sonic 1 is great, redrawn graphics, brighter colours and slightly reworked levels from the Master System made specifically for the small screen.
Sonic 2 was not so good, this game was just the Master System version 'zoomed in', which made some levels and bosses harder than they needed to be, just because you couldnt see what was coming.
I hope Sonic 1 comes out for the 3DS VC and also that it improves upon the emulated version included with Sonic Adventure DX on Gamecube, that version was pretty glitchy.

Well, depending on what they said, they could've been talking about the actual Sonic games for DS: Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic Chronicles and Sonic Colors.
I use the same username on TVTropes and youtube. look me up!

They were. When they said it a short couple-second reel went by of all of Sonic's DS games. Hence the confusion as to whether or not these things will actually be downloadable DS games.
