I have one friend who really liked it. But he's as die hard of a Pokemon fan as they come. Almost no one else I know has shown much interest. I personally think it's just a harmless kid's game. Nothing special.

@ReaderRagfish wait, you don’t think it’s adorable that Pikachu comes across as a jerk that is just one rare candy away from an overdose? Or his impatience that makes him seem like he spent 10 years in a prison camp pokeball?
I think the game could be neat, but the demo was too slow for me.

Yeah the more I look at it the more I realize how it is basically just a my first David Cage game for little kids. Watching someone stream a playthrough I realized how it is a lot like games such as Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human. It has the same cinematic story based approach to gaming, with the interactive elements being some basic exploration and detective work as well as some QTE interactive cutscenes. It is just a lot more juvenile with an obvious focus on being like a kids animated movie.
With this in mind I just feel like it is clearly aimed at a different audience than me. It is a kids game, which is fine since Pokemon appeals to kids, but this is probably something I would be more inclined to give to a kid than play myself.
