Topic: SNES 3ds should I play it or save it?

I'm new to the forum but a long time Nintendo fan.

So, I got the SNES Edition 3ds because I love SNES and handhelds. It's my first 3ds and I already have a Switch, but given the great library on 3ds I'd like to get into it. I'd really rather pick up the black&blue New 2ds xl to use as a "daily driver" and keep the SNES as a collectible and mint in box.

Is that being ridiculous? I know the SNES 3ds is an Amazon exclusive, but probably selling in high numbers so won't be so valuable but it could be nice to have a mint in box SNES 3ds. I'm not looking to ever flip it but it seems like a "collectible" handheld.

Fair point. I guess it comes down to whether I want to spend for a 2ds to actually carry around and wear & tear or not. I picked up the SNES 3ds for $150 on Amazon's sale so maybe I'll wait for another sale on the New 2ds xl.

In the meantime I'll open the Super Smash Bros. I got with it to play and keep the 3ds safe from scratches and whatnot.

I was wondering the same but I caved in. I love playing my SNES N3DSXL at home and my N3DS when travelling. Also part if the beauty of the SNES N3DSXL is how it looks when opened.

The battery will die and once it reaches true zero it is dead forever.

Just enjoy it. The value it gains will be wiped out by inflation.

If you haven't already opened it, and are willing to leave it sealed in the box, I'd say keep it sealed and go with the daily driver route. However if you opened it already then just enjoy it. Collectors will want it sealed in the box for maximum value.

I'm way too OCD. First SNES 3ds I ordered had a dust speck stuck under the middle of the lower screen so I got sent another one. Second one had a looser hinge. So I'm going with the dust speck and sending the looser hinge one back. LOL!!!

And yeah I'm going to just play and enjoy - forget about having one "mint" years later because I love the look of the system and want to enjoy it. It looks like a console when closed and the power lights on, so cool!

Also just a note - these consoles are never "sealed". No seal stickers are on the boxes and you can just open them and repackage them and it's the same as when it came new.
