The 3DS Nintendo sent back to me works perfectly fine, but the 3D and volume sliders feel a bit loose. I was wondering if anyone else has this "defect" with their 3DS, or is it just a common feature?
It seems like everything possible is wrong with your 3DS. No matter how many repairs. Ever think of just getting a new one?
But the one Nintendo sent me is brand new, it has a different serial number on the back, and the invoice they sent me states that it's a new replacement.
And if I spend money on a new 3DS, I'd risk that one having defects too.
My launch 3DS had a slightly tighter and sturdier 3D Slider and the L & R buttons were clickier plus they made a clicking sound. My new 3DS that I got as of late has a slightly looser 3D Slider and the L & R buttons aren't as responsive, they're quite different actually. They have less of a click and are much quiter....
Different internal parts I guess. I do however miss those clicky L & R buttons, but the downside is that they were quite loud and tended to mesh in with the sound coming from the 3DS's speakers.
By the way Tendoboy did you get clicky tactical feeling shoulder buttons this time, or are they squishier with less of a click?
The L & R buttons are clicky. No problems there. I just don't like the feel of the 3D slider and volume slider, they do feel a bit loose.

Ugh. I'm very picky when it comes to buying something brand new. I expect a brand new 3DS replacement that has been tested by repair technicians to be free of defects.
Are these confirmed to be 'defects' or are they your own personal gripes?

The slightly looser 3D Slider didn't really bother me. The real bummer again were those less clicky L & R buttons. I'm over it now, it only took 3 days haha and i sold my launch 3DS to one of my friends, so ta ta' superior L & R buttons. lol
Also, i notice that my D-pad was getting kind of squeeky was i playing Ubran Champion the other day. Bah, i just don't care anymore.
I'm not going to waste $169 on a new 3DS. I'm still in the one-year warranty period, so I will wait a while before doing anything drastic. I'll just keep this 3DS until the inevitable redesign comes along.
glad to see you've come to a final decision. please don't bother wasting our time anymore with these threads, Tendoboy; just contact Nintendo next time if something else about your 3DS bothers you that badly.
