Topic: Skype 3DS

It would be awesome for nintendo to make skype on the 3DS,but if they make a nintendo-brand ''skype''(like nintendo call box,or something)it wouldn't be so awesome because you couldn't call,or video call your skype friends(the ones that don't own a 3DS).
But if they made a ''nintendo call box'' or something,and if you could link it with you're skype account,that would be preety cool also(considering that you could call and video-call..of course)

I'm sure all casual gamers who own a 3DS have come up with this idea. Nintendo needs to both focus on casuals and gamers. To suit a gamer, just need games containing awesome graphics and gameplay. For casuals, they just wan't tons of freebies and a great variety. ~ Exactly why some of my friends who previously owned a DS moved on to playing games on their phones for portable entertainment. There's Skype on smart phones. Why not on the 3DS?

I would love to have Skype! It would be a must have if it was free on the eShop.

Well, online video chat has been done on the DS, Pokemon B/W is able to do video chat, which I still find odd.
Other then that, Nintendo knows that mostly kids buy their games, and the last thing they need is sick people, looking to show their "pokemon" to everyone.

Skype on my Vita is ok, though I don't think it'd look good on a tiny 3DS screen unless it's an XL.

Honestly, why would I want to use my 3DS for Skype when I could just as easily, if not more easily, use my smartphone or tablet? To me, the 3DS seems to be un-ideal for Skype.

I think they will learn their lesson and the next DS will have a lot more functionality. I've lost hope in the 3DS having much more than great games at this point. A better browser or Youtube and the promised Hulu Plus would satisfy me...

@The_Ink_Pit_Ox: Overrated? Apparently you've never used. I talk to people in my town, other states across the country, a number of people living in Britain, and Scotland and Ireland and Germany, and Switzerland...all at the same time....with little or no break-up and with good audio quality....oh and our webcams are on. But, here's the kicker: IT'S FREAKIN' FREE.

OVERRATED? Sorry, it's UNDERRATED.
