Topic: Should RE:M3D Save File enhance Revelations Gameplay?

Do you think that if you have a Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D File that it could help you in Resident Evil Revelations? (example: Maybe a special weapon for 100% Mercenaries 3D?)

hi Link977,

definitely NO !

you ask why ? Because Mercenaries is just a bonus map to shell out some extra cash for capcom.
Revelations will be the real new gen RE game and thus have enough secrets to unlock loads of bonus content.
As you know other RE games they always had loads of stuff going on ....
So remember RE is not a MMO its an videogame and they shouldnt outsource content. Your a marketing geek ? gosh .....
There is no need about such forced bonus. That would just be rediculous and alienate any customer.

Since most people who will have the mercenaries 3d will most probably want to own revelations too, i don't see why it would be a bad thing.

Also, it would boost the sales for both.

But i don't think capcom would bother.

Interesting idea Link 977, but I highly doubt it. The save file is on the cart in RE:M3D, not on the 3DS. If the save file was on the 3DS the whole issue would be mooted, as one would simply be able to delete the save file of one's 3DS. So the idea of Revelations using the RE:M3D saved data is impossible if it's on the cart, not the system itself.

Edit: I just saw the date of the op and realised that this thread was not posted in reaction to todays news that you can't delete the save files on RE:M3D. But, anyway, I still don't think there will be any interaction between the two games, for the same reason.

Still, the 3DS knows what games you have played.
And some games store aditional data in the 3DSs SD card.

Well, mine keeps a rather crowded list of all the games (and apps) i have used.
Seriously why do things like "System Settings" and "Friend List" (even the health memo that no one reads!) count as games?!

because this thing is called Activity Log and not game log !
It just shows where u put your most interest into even if you got asleep over the safety instruction and now got 8 hours logged for it

Well on topic , seriously i dont understand you all lot ....
Is that a fanboy thing or why do u like to throw cash out of the window ? Those new ways how to achieve bonuses are mediocre at best and worst do alienate people ( i hope both casuals and core gamers) ....
Seriously i wish the times back where all content was on one medium and ready to be unlocked without any silly restrictions !

What if.....
"We have this awesome super cute space-pirate alternate dress for Jill which comes with Laser Guns! ZZZZAPPPPP!
You have to beat the game 3 times on hard to unlock it OR just play that other game we released earlier and unlock it inmediatly!"

Would that be better?

In hypotheticaland everything is possible!

It would be nice for big companies like Capcom to include non essential bonus features in other games from owning other games by the same publisher. Such as mabey a Chun-Li outfit for Jill Valentine if you have played Street Fighter for at least 10 hours etc. I think special weapons and such may give an unfair advantage to gamers who have played other games but cosmetic bonus features or just little easter eggs would be a nice feature.

No it would be even worse...
For the unlock on hard mode you already got a save file so you can immediately unlock it !
And the ones who dont play hard modes wouldnt be interested in such knick-knack
The other way you mentioned you have to buy a 2 year old game with outdated engine and crappy graphics
NO THANKS

ps: its a tradition in RE games that you get new outfits via playthrough anyway so your argument fails totally ...
