Topic: Should I Import a 'New' 3DS from Japan at Launch or Wait?

I bought my current 3DS on day one in the US and have been waiting for an updated 3DS to import from Japan so I can play Japanese games. I'd definitely like to pre-order a 'New' 3DS, but I'm paranoid that Nintendo will release some awesome limited edition version 4 months after it comes out like they did with the original 3DS. I'm hoping that now with the face plates, that won't be a problem, but I'm still unsure. So, what do you think? Should I order the 3DS or wait until a limited edition comes out if there will be any?

Wait, in case NA and EU aren't to far behind with the console

@justlink I'm not importing it from Japan just to get it early, I want to be able to play games imported from Japan. I'm only worried about missing out on limited editions. Sorry if my post confused you.

@GrooseMcHades If you see a bundle you absolutely have to have, get it, but then you may miss exclusive content in your region aswell. Wait, then if you see one you really want, get it, but don't rush it. That's what i would do

Yeah. I think it would be best to wait. The only question now is, will the new 3DS's even have bundles or will games just be bundled with face plates?

We won't know just wait and see what japan and US is offering first then buy either one.. you can always buy a japanese console or US console at any date should you get the limited edition of either one.

You mean not the XL? The XL will definitely have limited editions, but the standard sized one might not...

Weren't limited editions already announced for the New 3DS XL in Japan? There's a Monster Hunter 4 one and a Super Smash Bros. one.

I won't be getting the XL. The pixel density is already awful on the standard 3DS.
