hi guys, just wondering should i buy it now or wait for the NEW 3ds? is it really worth waiting for? and is it really that far superior from the current 3ds that i should buy, upgrade (later on) or wait for it (if i buy the current one)?

im only gonna play pokemon games and monster hunter tbh.

thanks for the answers in advance.

I don't see why you need to wait when you're only going to play Pokémon and Monster Hunter. Might as well go get it now if you have the money and the time to play. It's not like there will be that much of a benefit to waiting.

wait I have an imported one and it's twice as fast, has far superior graphics. the C-stick is awesome. the updated internet explorer allows you to few mpeg-4 videos on it (plus multiple tabs) if it wasn't for region lock i'd have thrown away my other one.

The New 3DS is much sweeter to play on - feels great in your hands, is slick and smooth to operate. You can probably pick up a second hand 3DS for now for not that much and sell it on later. I'd wait for the new model though if you can really only get one.

From what I can gather from the reviews of the N3DS, it's a much better experience for play in 3D. If you actually want to play in 3D, you don't want a normal 3DS. The sweet spot is really very narrow, any movement takes you out of it and it ends up being an annoying experience I find. Except for very few games were the 3D is really outstanding and beneficial I have it turned off completely. Sometimes it's just to distracting the way it is, that I even completely disable it for games where is done right and even useful.

I'm actually considering upgrading now, because I'd really love to play OoT and MM in 3D, and with the current system that is just to much of a hassle and really hurts the experience. I'm not eager to replace my SD card (although the prices are really managable by now), and I don't really need that c-stick, although if you want to play Monster Hunter, as you say, the c-stick might be of high value to you, I never browse on my 3DS (even the Vita is less than ideal but still far superior for that), I'm not all that interested in replaying a down-rezzed version of Xenoblade either, BUT the eye-tracking for 3D might just sell me in the end

Just get the old 3DS if it's just Monster Hunter and Pokemon. There's not much benefit to getting to the others unless you're committed to getting many other games as well and playing them for long periods of time. (100 hours of gameplay even) For example, I have around 30 3DS retail titles, 50 Virtual Console titles, and 20 downloadable titles with a 32GB SDHC card on my 3DS XL. As you can tell, I'm committed to my 3DS, and the New 3DS will have a major impact on how I play the games. For just Pokemon and Monster Hunter, not so much.
