Not what I would have done. If you already have a 3DS, the XL only brings bigger size to the table. The Wii U is a completely new console (and finally HDii!). You're free to buy what you want, but in my opinion you've made a bad decision.

Well in that case, it's just a question of what you like better, handheld or home console.

I was wondering this too, but I decided to get a Wii U. I want a 3DS XL, but I already have plenty of games to play on my DS that are unfinished, plus I've always got my trusty phone for visiting Nintendo Life

Wii U. Better games, and you can do much more. The only place the XL wins is in 3D, price, and portability. If you don't care about those, then go for the Wii U.

He's posted that response so often, he's modified eBay sniping software to do it for him so it's kinda lost it's edge...
