Loving my black 3DS and the CPP is always connected even when I'm not using it, very comfortable to hold. The 3D is not a gimmick and adds great depth to games especially Resi Evil and Metal Gear + many others. Last but not least is the VC downloads you can't go wrong with a 3DS mate.

Found the 3DS to be pretty disappointing so far honestly but it does have the upcoming Paper Mario in its favour.

I never saw the appeal of Swapnote. Drawing on the 3DS' slippery touch screen is hard, and if you really want to chat so bad, there's plenty of chatrooms out there you can use.

I have both and my 3DS is just getting dust, last attempt was with KI but that game failed totally for me. As devices they are fighting pretty different leagues, Vita's control is way more complete than 3DS and its power puts its really close to PS3 and way ahead of 3DS, but actually its main problem is the lack of games. On the other hand PSN and prepaid cards work pretty well for it, and you can access to near 300 PSP (most of them for 9.9€ or less) titles that you may enjoy with improved visuals and with the second Vita's analog stick fully usable too (camera control). I dont have a PS3 but it seems Vita works well as remote control as well as for remote play (on Vita's screen). The other main problem for the Vita are its memory cards, which are expensive. It has a pretty powerfull backup software to transfer files between Vita and PC or Vita and PS3, but using SD cards would have worked much better.

That's kinda why I suggested waiting. All 3 systems seem to be on equal footing right now, so it's tough to choose. They'll announce a bunch of stuff at E3, though, so maybe something there will tip the scale for you (like they might announce a new Zelda for the 3DS or a price drop on the Vita)

Tales of the Abyss is a great game. I play it on my 3DS way more than any other game I have for it. I personally recommend getting both. I have a 3DS and am saving up to get the Vita.

Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

Cannot wait for the Wii U

Get a 3DS. Combine the retail games(SM3DL, MK7, RE:R, KI:U etc.) and eShop games(Pushmo, Mutant Mudds, Might Switch Force, Zen Pinball, Super Mario Land 2, Link's Awakening etc.) and you got a great handheld. I got mine in January and I love it.

The Vita has a handful of decent games already, but you should wait for a price drop or good bundle.(maybe this holiday season?)

Having a PS3 shouldn't effect if you want a 3DS, both a very different.

Get neither and wait for SEGA to release a new Game Gear that uses 12 AA batteries for a whole our of battery life.

I'm a PS3 owner and recently purchased a 3DS (one week ago). I currently own KI and SML3D. I am now selling some PS3 titles to pick-up MK7 and Zelda. I have been very pleased with my 3DS!

The only reason to get a 3DS is if you're a fan of Nintendo games.

That might be stating the obvious on the forums, but believe it or not there are some people that don't much care for a lot of Nintendo game IPs. I'm one of them and the 3DS, more than any other console in Nintendo's history, is getting by purely on the Nintendo content. Every third party experience is being done better on the other consoles. I am hoping that Square Enix music game changes things around.

The Vita is a really, really good console, and contrary to the belief of people who haven't played a Vita, plays differently to a PS3. There's some games there, already, that are either exclusive to Vita, or work better on Vita. It's going to take a while to really build out a library, but if you didn't own a PSP before, there's a lot of games in the back catalogue you can download.

So in conclusion, both work well with the PS3, but make sure you know why you're buying either before you invest. Nintendo games for the 3DS or it's pointless, and the potential for the Vita but understanding that it's going to be a good six months before the console really takes off.

right now i say 3ds but if you are a big final fantasy fan like me but not now you should look into the vita for final fantasy 10 but its alos going to be on ps3 but vita is still something to look into its futer same with 3ds right now go with 3ds but later idk

This. The only games on the 3DS that I have played for longer than one play through were OoT and MK7. OoT because it's OoT and MK7 because of its disappointing online. If Nintendo were able to pick up there game, and vastly improve their online it may get better. But I'll stick to my PS3.

Also, to the OP. Look at the games for Vita/3DS. If you like what you see, buy it. Take everyones own experiences with a pinch of salt, as they may be very different to yours.
