Good ol' Atlus is bringing yet another JRPG to 3DS. 3DS is getting Shin Megami Tensei IV Final on February 10 in 2016. I wish I knew how to post images on the site because there are images for this game...
Anyway, this is freaking huge. I'm pretty sure this game will get localized for North America and Europe. SMT IV biggest problem was bland characters so hopefully SMT IV Final will improve on this greatly.
SMT IV Final is not an expansion but a brand new game in the universe. It's either a sequel or prequel.
People are speculating that the green ghost is Navarre and the blonde haired woman is Nozomi. Both characters are in SMT IV. The main guy could also possibly be Akira... hopefully not because I want a sequel not a prequel.
There's also going to be a livestream on October 11th from Atlus at 7pm JST to showcase the game more. I might just keep updating this post with new information as it trickles out.
Apparently it will be fully revealed in a livestream event on the 11th, 7pm Japanese time, wee early morning hours for the Americas, midday for Europeans. But it looks like it is an entirely new game set in the SMT IV, be it a sequel, prequel, alternate setting or whatever. It's not an Overclocked or Record Breaker type of remake with an extra chapter.
SMT IV was the best selling main series SMT game in North America, so I think a localization of this is completely guaranteed. Probably for Europe too... published by NISA in 2018.

I don't like the character design for the MC, but I like everything else. In the pic you can see Medusa on the right, Merkabah on the left, and WTF happened to Navarre? overall, this just bounced up to my most hype game now... Now to wait for a trailer...

The MC looks angry and ticked and that's understandable since he's in a world full of demons but man... That's way too much green and the "No War" is so sarcastic because internal war and external war is bound to be in SMT IV Final.
Ghost Navarre = new Burroughs. That's my guess and that's sad if I'm right.

The SMT series screams all sorts of awesomeness but I'm one of the people who can't seem to get past the difficulty. I own both SMT IV and Overclocked and have yet to really try and dig into them enough to fully appreciate them. I need to find the time to really give them a proper go, one at a time, as I hear they deserve. Maybe the series isn't for me, but man has this announcement made me want to dedicate some time and effort to learning about these games' mechanics, characters, and worlds.
I'm a huge RPG fan but I swear the SMT series is like my Everest.
Don't feel bad. There's a difficulty curve in SMT IV for sure. Here's my advice: fuse demons to create more powerful demons with great skills. Give YOURSELF good skills from Burroughs. Grind, man. Turn some of your great music on and grind for a while.

@Spoony_Tech: Supposedly it doesn't connect too directly to IV's story, other than having some similar characters. I think you're probably going to understand it fully without finishing SMT IV.
