In the case with the 3DS, there's the opportunity to set the date right before running the game again. This just seems to be an issue with the way StreetPass works.

So, even if I take out the 3DS battery and get the street pass bug, I can keep my activity log and other features untouched with this chance to set time and date before running the systerm. right? (I assume you meant "running system software" with "running the game")

No it doesn't. StreetPass is local wireless, SpotPass is Internet. I don't see how that conflicts?

Because of what you just said.

And as I said, the point of SpotPass is that you don't have to go out of your way to intentionally connect to the internet, it just does so passively, any time an open network is in range.

Stop complaining and GO PLAY GAMES.

I, too, have also come across this problem. The only thing is that I never took out my battery, nor did I let it "drain flat." I had the system in my pocket all day, in sleep mode, running on a full battery and when I went to check if I had any hits, the system was powered off. Upon turning it back on, I'd realized that the system was reset to 1/1/196something, but it still retained an almost full charge, which leads me to think that perhaps it could be a circuitry thing? I haven't been able to tag any of the people, including my girlfriend whom I regularly tag 2-3 times a day, that I had tagged in the past after that. The system has spontaneously shut off 1 or 2 more times since then, but it hasn't had the same effect on the clock. Anybody have any suggestions besides the system format?

For real, can someone clear this up? Don't families with multiple 3DS's streetpass with each other every day? I'm assuming they also have wifi in their house and their 3DS's are hooked up to the internet when it's in sleep mode. Doesn't that mean you can get streetpasses while connected to the internet?

Internet is mostly inactive in streetpass mode. We have wifi. We get streetpass hits.

thank you, that sounds more like it. if spotpass firing up the internet interferes with streetpasses during sleep mode, then it's only a matter of seconds.

So then let me ask about the bug this way; (April 29 ... only learned about the bug today)

Currently running version 1.1.0-1u (have not had any noticeable issues)

I bought my nyko powerpak+ battery the same day that I bought my 3DS. I turned the 3DS on (at home), took a quick look at it's built-in stuff, turned it completely off, then installed the Nyko powerpak+ battery. (I can't remember if I did the suggested update before or after the new battery was put in, but I think it was after).

Does this mean I have the bug?

The way I see it, while I did have to adjust the date/time, I had no streetpass hits or anything before I switched the battery. I mean the history data couldnt have had more than a few minutes to it.

I was out pretty much the entire afternoon (went to the local mall where we have an Electronics Beautique "EB") and a Toys-R-Us (no 3ds demo models at either) but didn't get a single streetpass hit. (Then again, Aurora and Newmarket are pretty small towns here in Ontario ... and with the 3DS only being out about a month, I doubt a lot of kids have them yet. I mean I've seen like 3 people with that new PSP-phone so I can only imagine that since it's also brand new that a lot of older teens and young adults with money to spend will probably get it first)

I am having the same Street Pass Issue as mentioned in this forum. However, while my battery had run out, it hadn't reset any of my information (time, date, etc.). I am able to pick up new Mii's, but not the Mii of my friend here at work. We worked on picking up eachother this afternoon, adding eachother as friends, testing settings, etc. Still can't seem to pick up eachother's Mii's.

Sad.

Why reformat the system when you could just delete the individual Mii in the StreetPass Mii Plaza? Seems like a better idea than erasing the entire 3DS.

i heard of this issue almost and hour after i changed my 3ds battery for the nyko battery, and i was freaking out because i thought i messed up my 3ds. but i still got streetpasses after that so im pretty sure im okay.

Because the Mii isn't the problem, and you can't delete it anyway.

I tried out the Nyko Battery pack a few days ago and its working fine and all...but I can't get a single Streetpass. I'm really dissapointed/Sad/Angry/A whole mess of negative emotions at this moment.

I often go to streetpass events in Los Angeles, over 600 tags already. Does that mean i'll never get a streetpass from any of those +600 people again? So dissapointed...The comments I've read so far indicated that the only people you wont get a streetpass from once aquiring the glitch are the people you streetpassed that day...Is this true? Can anyone confirm this? I'll be heading to a 100+ people streetpass event this coming sunday so I it won't take long to recieve an answer if not from you guys. Please, i'll be eagerly awaiting an answer from anyone. ×1000

@billyg0at1991 Sounds like your system might needs repairs or something if that keeps happening.

@rapierdragon It seems to be a problem that doesn't allow you to StreetPass people who are already in your Plaza.
If that is the case then you should be unaffected if you had yet to get any StreetPass hits at the time.

So when this happens, you only have a problem with StreetPass? Nothing lost in the Activity Log?
When I was trying to get Play Coins, I tried switching the date backwards a day or something once and noticed that all my activity beyond that day was deleted. That problem doesn't occur?
Now if I want to change the date for Play Coins I make sure I always change the clock forwards so that I don't lose anything in my activity log (besides the steps that I just got for the Play Coins).

I hate to bring up the obvious, but you've gone through and made sure you've got a Mii set up for it, StreetPass enabled and wireless turned on for both systems, right? You also won't get StreetPass hits if a system is connected to the internet.

No, you get streetpasses while connected to the internet. At least, me, my 3 siblings and my friend do.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.

The whole idea of streetpass is passing someone "on the street", and getting a hit that way - which is not via internet but local wireless. Spotpass are what you get from playing against another player over the internet, ie Super Mario Kart 7 ghost data.

Me and my bro are at over 200 and counting. It just says 99 from the menu, because it can't fit anymore.
